@Datsun *****
Thanks mate, I was thinking of popping in tomorrow and asking the question anyway so I will think of a good reason to try and get it pushed along :)

You were lucky. 3 weeks now and I am still waiting for my account to be available for me to be used!

Gold price is too strong, that's the main reason. Gold is high because the USD is weak and the US economy is full of uncertainty.

Much respect 👍

It must be tough trying to get that bike up hills, your legs must be as strong as an ox. And I hope you have plenty of WD-40 to stop it from falling apart :)

Glad you have been enjoying it here in Thailand.

Whatever option you take I think you will be fine. Just keep safe and hopefully dry.

Can understand that BB stuffed up in the past and their customers used their accounts for money laundering so they need to review their KYC policies, I get that.

What I don't understand is why they just freeze everyones accounts without notice and therefore leaving their customers in a hell of a predicament. (Although I shouldn't be surprised by this!). The other issue I have is communication in the bank itself. Before the bank opened there was a queue of about 30 people, the first lot of people being served didn't leave until about 35 minutes and after a day or day the bank should be aware of the processing time.

They should have then had a sign or regularly communicated this to the customers this was the case. It didn't take long before mathematically people arriving wouldn't get served by the time the bank closed at 4pm. This should have been managed by the manager.

Where I was there were 4 counters open except for toilet breaks and lunch. So from 8:30am to 16:00 that's roughly a maximum of 60 people they could serve for the day (7.5hrs X 2 X 4), in reality less. Looking at the ticket numbers at least 120 arrived before I left and not a word said by management.

Anyway, that's a long winded post to say that they handled this whole process very unprofessionally (and we still have to wait a week to get access to our accounts).

While condo prices are dropping the rents are still increasing. And due to their strange logic the rooms are staying empty longer.

My lease was up for the year and I was asked to pay $2k more a month for the next year. I suggested it wasn't a good idea as the market didn't reflect that, but they were adamant.

I ended up taking a room 5 doors down (same complex, same floor) for $1k less than my previous lease, so it was an easy move for me.

I have no doubt that that room will sit empty for ages now and over the next 12 months the owner will be behind in comparison to if they kept the rent the same for me. Their loss!

100% agree. I have had a close female friend now for over a year, we do a lot together but I refuse to call her my gf and I don't let her stay with me for more than 3 nights a week. I know she wants more but that is my limit and it works perfectly for me. She has a job so supports herself but I am happy to pay for her food when we go out. I have no intention of making my life more complicated than that.

Great idea, I can't see any issues by taking that route 😛
