Most big shops have imported turkeys (butterball etc) which are all precooked since raw imports have been banned since US bird flu outbreak about a decade ago.
A smaller number of expat and specialty shops will have local grown uncooked turkeys.
The precooked are easy and nice, but lack option to cook your preferred style.
Yes you can get that visa, I'm on it now, have been for years.
Sole custody is only required if you are not married to the mother, if married no need for that.
Overseas marriage may well complicate things, would be easier if you did the formal marriage paperwork at local Amphur. Takes an hour and a few hundred baht.
Requirements are very similar to marriage visa, main advantage of Thai child visa is you don't need to cancel it the same day if get divorced. Since you will likely need to register the marriage in Thailand either way both options could be available to you.
Disclaimer: Every immigration department interprets rules differently so my experience in Pattaya may not apply in Phuket. Also been advised by multiple people (but not tested yet) that Krabi don't even care about having any custody even if divorced.
Don't think Laos will issue a multiple entry non O visa, generally only get single entry 90 days. You can then extend that indefinitely inside Thailand, but will need to meet the 400k finance requirements.
But no need to swap to tourist, just take right paperwork and get it right away.
Embassy will say no, emergency passport is for travel home only.
But if have extension of stay it is possible to get it transferred to an emergency passport and extend visa on that, though visa date will be limited to date of emergency passport.
When have replacement passport can transfer visa back to that.
Done a few years back with British emergency passport in Pattaya. But as an unusual case may vary in different immigration offices or depend on officers mood.
