TLDR : Answer Summary

To read some comments about so called rip off agents, there must be plenty of foreigners living on a shoe string in Thailand. Lol🤣

Mach auch nur noch alles selber. Die Preise der Agents sind mittlerweile so frech , dass es nicht mehr feierlich ist

I used an Agent here in Hua Hin - cost 7500 bath for the 1 year extension. That's no money to think about.

Many expats meltdown over the 300 baht entry fee to national parks, so I doubt they'd be happy paying 7500 for a 1900 extension

The OP used Hua Hin, that's how easy it is to save 5600B. Oh, sorry, you don't think about money.

Cost at some agencies, not all agencies

Nothing is free at an agency.

Yes, really. If we're not talking about an advice face to face. Even if you meet every requirement they will charge you for putting together a pile of documents for immigration.

Max…everyone knows agents aren’t free

So, why this comment:

"Cost at some agencies, not all agencies."?

@Max ************
it’s 30,000 at some agencies, 5,000 at others

That's a lot of bathing

I must say every year I get older it's the same but harder to do. 🤔 The brain does not have auto anymore it's all manual so I have been writing notes. 😆😆😆 Silly old bugger.

The "Get an agent" brigade are going to hate this post 555

The agents who tout for services in these threads always push the "save yourself time" barrow. There was one story in a group the other day where a guy drove 12 hours each way to his visa agent in Pattaya!! Yep. Saving time!

@Roberto ********
Agents survives because there are so many clueless people out there. It seems like they don't want to learn how to do it themselves.

and all the people who have never tried themselves saying use an agent

@Graham *****
Yeah, it's totally unbelievable. If we're talking about an extension based on retirement, the paperwork is exactly same every year. When I've done my extension I go to Kodak Express and take copies for 1 year ahead, everything I need. Then I can put together a set of copies for immigration when I need it. In 30 seconds. It might be a 90 days report or next extension.

40 minutes at Chaengwatthana last week. New record for me!

did you make a appt before hand or walkin? The last extensions i reach CW at 8am to get a queue number just to enter to the counter that gives queue numbers for different sections....once get queue number for section L.... I waited until amost 10.30 to see the junior officer who runs tru your documents and tells you to wait for another call from senior officer if your documents are all intact
Roberto *********
@Jesper ******
Of course I made an appointment! I'm not stupid! Jump the queue as soon as I get there!
Jesper *******
@Roberto ********
do u have the link to make appt which u want to share?
Roberto *********
@Jesper ******
On the first page of the immigration website, bottom left, hit the Online Appointment button

But what time did you leave home? I spent about 10 minutes at immigration in Jomtien and it wasn't a new record.
Roberto *********
@Max ************
Jomtien is hardly Chaengwatthana! 😂. Staying at a friend's place 10-15 mins away. I made an appointment and made sure everything was in order. I laugh at those who will pay 15-20k baht because "they have better things to do with their time" 😂😂😂
Max *************
Well,my last extension in Jomtien in late March took exactly 1 hour. I walked to Bangkok Bank to get my bank letter,then a short walk to Kodak Express for a last copy,then another short walk to immigration. I started 9:30, (my branch open 10:00), and left immigration 10:30.
