its not expensive compared to US. But cheap? We agree allot in here, but with this one you are incorrect.

Its about on par with out of pocket private hospitals in Germany and other Northern European countries.

Single consults isn’t to bad, but anything inpatient ain’t cheap at all. Same with advanced diagnostics. My spine surgery was about the same as Germany. NCT and MRI also about the same as Europe. My meds are more expensive here than Europe. (Again, out of pocket, no insurance). Also allot of specialized medications aren’t available here.

The quality of healthcare is generally quite good at some hospitals, but you kind of have to shop around to find good specialists.

As for cheaper than Thailand? A large part of the world. It would be a long list, but some examples are most east (and some western) European countries, Indonesia, India, several South American countries.

I did jakarta before they moved to E-visa. 3 days processing time, they only cared about current balance. Medical DTV.

Jakarta is known to be «DTV friendly»

i know that 🤷🏻‍♂️. For Truemoney as i said: Passport and DTV visa sticker. And yes, my prompt pay with true money works.

no, just passport and DTV. Got thai drivers license, but obtained long after true money 🤷🏻‍♂️

I also obtained bank account with just the DTV + proof of medical treatment.

Anonymous participant 352 yes? Then those people would know tax is unrelated to visa type and not ask this question.

Pensions are tax assessable, but already paid taxes in home country deductible as tax credit *depending on specific country/DTA*

Effectively unlikely to pay tax in Thailand in pension, but supposed to be reported.

Not relevant to your question, but are you doing home schooling or remote schooling for your boy? Can you give any tips?

I got True Money based on passport, I don’t think you need to show DTV.

Nobody moving here with DTV would be filing taxes yet (if starting either DTV) . You typically file taxes the year after you stayed more than 180 days, regardless of visa type. 2025 taxes to be filed in 2026…..
