If you have an actual stamp in your passport and not a separate piece of paper or digital file you can have it transferred. If not carry both passports as suggested.
Thailand is drafting a law to exempt personal income tax on foreign-sourced income, including pensions, if transferred into Thailand within two tax years of being earned.
👤 Who’s Covered?
Long-term residents (including retirees and expats)
Holders of LTR visas, Thailand Privilege Cards, or similar
Anyone who qualifies as a Thai tax resident (180+ days in-country)
💸 What Kind of Income?
Foreign pensions (state or private)
Investment income earned abroad
Other overseas earnings, as long as they’re not from Thai sources
Yup. It is just the wording in this BP article. The tax changes have been a disaster and they would rather have the money in the country being spent or available to lend than the smaller tax receipts.
I needed VE so I could get a B. Singapore would not process application for B while on a live O. In the end I had to pay a facilitation fee for the Immigration Office to cancel the O. Had 7 days to leave country. Did border run to Cambodia and came back on VE. Flew to Singapore got a 90 day B. Came back to Thailand had had B extended to 2 years with a WP. I got 2 free expense paid trips to Singapore out of it though :-)
You might wish to contact an agent with "Contacts" in Immigration. They can check to see if there is any note on your record as if Ankara have done this it could effect applications elsewhere.
