Is it advisable to contact for a status update on a pending DTV application and can you pay for an express review?

Quick question about speeding up the DTV application:

I’ve heard that some applications have been stuck in review for over 2 weeks.

I also heard that a few people reached out via Line to check on the status.

Would it be wise to do the same if my application has been pending for about 4–5 days? Also… has anyone ever tried asking if there’s a way to *pay* for an express review? 😅

Curious to hear if anyone has experience with this or any tips to share!

Thankss

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query addresses concerns about the duration of the DTV application process, particularly whether contacting the relevant authorities through Line after 4-5 days of waiting is advisable. Users share their experiences, noting instances where status updates led to quicker approvals. Some confirm that paying about 2000 baht can fast-track the application to 24 hours, while others highlight inconsistencies in processing times, with some applications taking much longer. The discussion also touches on the cultural norm in Thailand of negotiating fees for faster services.

Yes easy to do it's 2000 baht and your application gets fast tracked, instead of been patient and waiting 5-7 days it's processed within 24hrs

If you need the contact details and line ID send me a PM I'm happy to help

For security reasons i have to hide my identity because this is corruption

We reached out and asked for a status update after about 20 buisness days. Got a response saying they will look Into our application. And 2 days later approved.

Offering bribes to Embassy staff is the way to go. Post your Line message on here together with the response. :-) :-)

it ain’t no bribe if the express lane is listed as an option 😂

Just kidding, but its very common in Thailand to “negotiate” or pay for faster service.

There’s a saying “everything is negotiable in Thailand, except 7Eleven”.

Anonymous participant If official express or fast lane no issue. I know Thailand well about paying for express services and have done it dozens of times. However, MFA would be a different kettle of fish. It is obvious some agents have done some deals with certain embassies. It is also obvious some of these avenues have been cut short recently. I am guessing here but the services do not seem to be offered as they were a few months ago
