Update: No online appointment = no service. Do not waste your time to come here as a walk-in. Many frustrated foreigners as they were not aware of the online booking requirement and there is no information on the Website of the MFA.
I need to correct myself in one respect after talking to immigration in Samut Prakan yesterday. When a Thai files a TM 30 for a foreigner at her/his address and the foreigner leaves to stay at a hotel (e.g. for travelling in Thailand) and returns to the same address there is no need to file the TM 30 again upon his/her return. The only exception is if the foreigner stays temporarily at another private residence (e.g. a friend), who has then to also file a TM 30. In this case upon return of the foreigner you have to file a new TM 30 or use the app. The same applies of course if the foreigner leaves Thailand and returns.
two different issues. Reporting of residence with TM 30 has to be done within 24 hours counting from the arrival in the country or a new residency, e.g. if you go on a trip. Normally the hotels or condo do it but if you stay at a private residence, the owner, in this case your partner, has to file it. Again, it can be done via app so no problem. The 90 day reporting with form TM 47 is a report that you have to file every 90 days. So the first one is due 90 days from when you arrive in Thailand. If you move within the country you do not have to file a new TM 47 until the 90 days are up but a TM 30.
Corrrection: When you do trips within Thailand your partner will only have to file the TM 30 form or online upon return if you stayed not in a hotel or condo but in another private residence (here the house owner would have to file a TM 30 for your temporary stay) or return from abroad.
Wouldn't it make much easier to have two banking accounts? One for immigration purposes with no or little activity and one for your normal expenses. Opening banking accounts in Thailand is not too difficult or expensive.
try another branch. I had an issue with a letter from immigration that the SCB branch did not want to accept. So I smiled, walked out, went to another branch and they accepted it...
