It takes about 4 weeks from the initial appointment at Bang Rak to the actual appointment to get the marriage certified.

Thais need a passport but no visa to enter Cambodia as tourists.

My Thai girlfriend and I got married June 20 and we got an appointment about three weeks after we went there to have our documents reviewed and to schedule a date. That was Ban-Rak in Bangkok.

เตเต้ สตีฟ the trick with embassy appointments is to look about 2-3 weeks in advance. They update regularly and typically they only open the calendar a maximum of 4 weeks in advance. We did it at Bang Rak. After we had the documents translated and notarized by the MFA the Amphoe Bang Rak inspected them and then gave us an appointment three weeks after the initial visit. But again, each Amphoe is different so this is probably where I would start.

You better bring some time. From the moment I had the Marriage Affidavit notarized by the US embassy in Bangkok it took us 5 weeks to finally getting married on June 20.
