Hello everyone, I’m new here, Australian. I am not married however I have 2 Thai national children with my Thai partner of 10 years. Applied for a 1 year multi entry non immigrant o visa and was approved in Australia by the consulate. I don’t have a Thai bank however I will be opening one when I arrive. My question is you need to apply for an extension 45-30 days out but you also need 400k in a Thai bank for 2 months. Given it will take me a week or so to open an account and transfer funds I might be cutting it fine to have 2 months of history and be 30 days before my stamp expires. Would the best bet be to open the bank and deposit the 400k in the first week then exit and reenter Thailand on the multi entry and apply for an extension 45 days out from the end of my second entry? Thanks in advance all.

Has anyone in Bangkok got married recently? My fiancé and I are both farangs, we have our embassy affidavits translated and legalised and now just need the marriage certificate from the Amphur.

I spoke with 2/3 of the Bangkok ones, Khet Prakhanong’s number in not in service, and both said 1-2 months just for an appointment.

I read a blog from 2021 that mentioned a new process. After the initial appointment, the Amphur confirms the affidavits with our embassies and this takes 40 days, rendering the translation and legalisation a pointless process. I’ve only seen this mentioned once though.

After a few years of living here, I think I already know the answer; an agent, but keen to hear any recent experiences.
