what’s naive is thinking that tourism doesn’t help the Thai economy. It’s literally the backbone of many places, and without tourism, many people would be in much harder financial situations.

Also, you think people aren’t doing their due diligence when purchasing a 5 year visa, and moving to another Country?

Speaking like this only makes you look uneducated and arrogant.

Tourism isn’t that beneficial? Lol, do you also think the Earth is flat?

@Steve *******
exactly, be happy for those that are able to live out their lives and dreams with less hurdles!

I’m finally able to move to Thailand with my family with a fraction of the red tape we were going to have to face previously. I think this is a huge win, and will put a ton of money into the Thai economy.

why would you say this? I don’t get these salty comments lol. Are you mad you spent more money and time on another type of visa? Sounds like it to me.
Roberto *******

you don’t have to pre purchase a ticket, not make accommodations. Just have to show when you think you’re going and where you’re most likely going to stay.

Also, why would you have to acquire more funds? Im sure 90% of the applicants already have these funds in their bank account.

I don’t get it, are you salty you’re on a worse visa?

it costs 10,000baht is you want to extend your visa by another 180 days and not leave the kingdom.

If you leave before 180 days, then come back, the 180 day ticker starts again with no charge.

just got off the phone with the Thai embassy, and yes, you will still need to do 90 day reporting, so thank you and
@Greg *******
for pointing this out. I was indeed, misinformed.

They did say that I would be able to report online though, rather than in person, which is a good thing.

Also, the 180 days in Thailand **per calendar year** rather than “consecutively” to become a Tax citizen is also something I was misinformed about. I’m really glad these groups exist, as there is so much misinformation hovering around.

Will have to rethink a few things here!
