The MFA isn’t immigration. Saying “there is no rule on entry requirements” is not the same as saying “we guarantee entry without requirements for 5 years.” If such a rule exists in law, please share the source. Immigration’s rights take precedence over any interpretations of the law. There’s no guarantee this will continue indefinitely.
You can say you’re going on vacation they already have your full stay history in their system anyway. At some point, they may decide to become stricter, just as they already are with exemptions (who also come for "vacation") and other visas. Yes, people have received their DTVs based on whatever proves, but that doesn’t mean immigration can’t ask for more. As you said, there’s no specific rule, what does prevent them from exercising their right to control immigration?! The day they decide to tighten things up, they can. There’s a big difference between saying “It’s mentioned that DTV holders will not be required to show documents for 5 years” and saying “There’s no rule about entry requirements for DTVs.” Immigration laws always take precedence over any other statements or interpretations.
Yes, and nothing suggests they won’t, except for short-term trends... You know how Thailand works, right? Everything’s fine until someone decides it’s not anymore. Look at the ED guys... they were saying the exact same thing years ago. We’re both wrong and right. 😁
Anonymous participant Well, it’s just the truth… There isn’t much you can say to avoid questions except having the relevant proof. Immigration will look for facts not excuses.
