Well a person needs an ID and also need the vaccination certificate, right? and possibly a flight ticket....

Actually that's might be up to the airline. I've managed to cancel the first leg and allowed to take only the second leg, one time. But this was 20 years ago.

But it is correct very if I hadn't turn up at all for the first leg and not canceled it it would have canceled my second leg.

You can arrive on exempt and 15 days before end of it apply to transfer to non-o 90 day visa (for retirement). I think you need to show (longer term) rental contract for apartment not just stay in guesthouse). For the non-O visa you need to have transferred 800k/etc to Thai bank and have proofs. Then, once the money has sat for 2 months you can apply for 1 year extension of stay for retirement reasons.

To exit thailand and cone back and not lose the stay you need to get reentry permit. You can search Google for that.

Insurance is not required for O visa.

Just for non-o just for entry into country (TP) etc.

It may be possible to apply for non-o in your country but I don't know the procedure.

In the video he said he would stay in this hotel where he arrived for 7 days so I guess that's quarantine...

Regarding residency don't you always have right to apply in the country according to your passport?

I tried to find this on the TATs website but it's impossible. You'd think they would be able to gather the information updated in one place instead of people reposting infographics which may be months old...

But nobody cares about making things easier right?

Well I would not drill out on it You better check beforehand. I did have a two-time entry Chinese tourist visa. And I was going from Hong Kong to Shenzhen and there at the border you can get a 5-day visa.. But last time the informed me that I ordered ahead of two his visa and if I got there five days it would invalidate my tourist visa entry. It works before but it didn't work that time and since then. Actually for China the visas have become quite expensive and short and only two times entry but it's almost not worth the trouble. I once had a 2-year multiple entry 90-day tourist visa which doesn't actually exist but that's what I got. Before covet I would just use the 144 hour transit rule. In some airports if you fly from one country region territory to another then you do not need a visa but you get a 144 transit visa for free when landing. Hong Kong and Macau water not considered same. You can only enter from one but you cannot return to the same one. It is possible to combine with train but you need to have tickets beforehand.
