Your embassy can do both. Verify passport and address as needed by Bangkok bank.

Other banks are generally not helpful.. some may get lucky.

You need to have your email verify your passport is valid.

The can also "confirm" your address, which is needed for opening bankaccount.

Just spend money in really expensive places and they probably take it ...

Your foreign visa card works in 7-11 thailand. No lower limit. If it's decor card you might need to say "credit". Bangkok bank visa debit does NOT work...

It seems to me that the biggest worry would be to get out of China.

Once your here, you can really travel to cambodia and Singapore with minimal restrictions.

I just joined at flights between bkk and shanghai and they seem virtually noon existent.

The only drawback is that some visa matters have to be done in "your home country or pkace of residence". And once you leave china...
