Do you have 800,000 Bhat in the bank for 2 months prior to your application? And 3 months afterward? If not then Agent is your only choice to streamline the process.

If you do have the money in an account then there are a dozen more hurdles to jump thru including purchasing unnecessary insurance. They make it very challenging to say the lease. In the end it only costs 4500 Bhat vs 25,000 but the 5 trips to immigration and all the other headaches isn’t worth the saving IMO.

welcome to Pattaya. The process here is 25,000 + another 4500 for multiple entry. The Agents will use their funds and circumvent the system at immigration by providing you a letter with their Bank Manager of choice. They make the

day funds rule so that they can push you towards the private system and everyone down the chain makes a cut. Because to do it yourself, it’s only about 4200 Bhat for the entire 15 month visa.

If she loves it here, don’t fight the system, do it with an Agent. Pay them so they all get their cut and in 20 days you get your 15 month visas. Then plan ahead and renew yourself in the next year.

sure. Let me just jump in my Time Machine and go back to the previous Edit. Shouldn’t be to difficult to find a Time Machine right.

Retirement visa with an Agent who takes care of your 800,000 requirement is 25,000 Bhat single entry. Plus 4000 more for multiple. That’s the best deal you’ll find here. It will get you 15 months. Then on renewal it’s 12,000 + 4000. That’s the system down here. Worth every penny.

it’s very common to get many different answers here from government places. I don’t have any actual solution for you but be aware that it’s going to be a problem when you re-enter thailand to Ask the officer NOT to stamp your re-entry. Have you thought about how your going to explain that to them as it’s mandatory for the 90 day reporting. That advice you were given seems wrong and basically goes against immigrations policy. For you to circumvent that re-entry stamp you will need to disclose the whole chain of events to them, thus exposing you to blacklist and deportation.

So if you have been fortunate enough to have come in a few times without a problem, that might all change once you have to explain why you don’t want a re-entry stamp. Just keep that in mind.

Don’t risk anything. Report by the 20th when your due. Don’t press your luck.
