Do I need to report my 90-day stay in person at BKK Immigration if I leave Thailand just before it expires?

Thanks to the advice from this group, I got my Non "O" Retirement 90 days until Sep 20, 2023 and the 1-year extension until Sep 18, 2024.

Question - if I leave Thailand on Sep 26 (7th day of 90 days expiration) for a short trip, do I still need to make the 90-days reporting physically at BKK Immigration, before leaving Thailand? I understand that our 90-days reporting must be made within 15 days before or after 7 days the period of 90 days expires.

Reporting online is no problem, but I am wondering if I have to go to BKK Immigration for my first 90-days reporting. Thank you in advance for any advice - the info you provide is immensely useful!!!

Hi
@Eric ******
did you use the 800K method or the 65K monthly method to apply the non-O? Iโ€™m currently on Non OA (first year coming to end) and planning to convert to Non O (before the end of the โ€˜freeโ€™ 2nd year OA) using the 65K monthly method (I could potentially start the 65K monthly at the start of the 2nd year OA). Thanks.

You can try filing your first time online. It works for some people but not others. There's no harm in trying but once you get past the due date you have to go in person.

The 7 day period after your due date is just a grace period but even if you leave during that period you missed your report. When you return and go for your next report they're likely to see you spent 90 days in Thailand last time and didn't report and may fine you 2000 baht.

Make sure you have a re-entry permit before you leave.

, sometimes, yes, sometimes, no. I have tried doing the first time online successfully but actually, the IM gave me a sticker in my passport when getting the extension about when do to the first 90-Day reporting meaning they did register me in the system already. The reason why most ppl will have to do the first 90-Day in person is exactly that the visa (extension) system and the 90-Day reporting system are not connected...
