TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is on a retirement visa in Thailand and is considering where to obtain a re-entry visa. They ask if it is necessary to secure this visa at the airport or if it can be obtained from the local immigration office in Khon Kaen (KK). Responses indicate that either option is acceptable, though some prefer to obtain it in advance from a local immigration office. The user also inquires about the necessary documentation for the immigration office, mentioning they will be on a one-way flight and will book a return later.

One more question, about 4 years ago i flew international form KK-DMK -HCMC with AirAsia, my check in for the whole flight was in KK my bag was transited through and because my international check in was done in KK i by passed it in DMK, has anyone done an international flight recently from KK stopping in BKK and then onwards do they still do the international check in KK, Thai Smile is the airline i'm looking at.

I always get mine from my local immigration office. Many get at the airport but I prefer to do in advance
tge company has applied for my visa today and i should find out if it's been approved by Thursday, and i'm going into KK on Friday, so if i can i thought i'd get it then , one less thing to do at the airport, just thinking ahead.
