Can my parents stay in Thailand for 89 days with a 60-day tourist visa and a 30-day extension?

Hi everyone, hoping for some confirmation. My parents (Irish passport holders) will come to visit us next month for 89 days. I am going to apply for a tourist visa via the e-visa website for 60 days and then apply for a 30 day extension at immigration to cover their full stay. Am I correct that this way they are covered for their full stay and will not need to leave before their time is up? Many thanks in advance 🙏
