TLDR : Answer Summary
Irish passport holders can explore various visa options to stay longer in Thailand. Some of the most discussed options include the Special Tourist Visa (STV) for up to 270 days, the retirement visa for those over 50, and the O visa, which offers an initial stay of 60 days with a possible extension. Engaging in employment or marriage to a Thai national are also suggested routes to extend residency.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
If you are 50 years or older a retired Visa is your best option.

Come - dont leave.. But if you want to do it legally you'll need to file some paperwork and stuff. Best paperwork depends on your situation. Single (want to get married), financially well-off, pentioner, bring your own job, willingness to work etc.

If he was smart enough to make the money to afford a Thai elite visa he wouldn't have to ask fb.
really not sure about anything. I do know that back in September I was advising not to buy the elite visa, because the administration of it was so chaotic. Now with the 90 day tourist visa in effect, allowing people to come in and if eligible roll into a retirement visa, For many The elite visa still doesn’t make any sense

The O visa will give you 60 days and you can extend it by 30 days.
Whatever. I'm just sharing what my attorney told me. I don't understand why more people don't just hire a lawyer. Especially since the situation is very dynamic right now. Thx.
Well, you could start an Irish pub on Walking Street ... haven’t seen an Irish Pub or bar on Walking Street since... 2003 or 2004... next to that Aussie Bar, if I remember correctly ... both are long gone ...
Belle Aire Soi, Nong Bar, Yin Bar, House bar, U2 Irish Bar are all open waiting for you to come and enjoy..

You really need to supply a few more details if you expect a sensible answer here. :) How old are you? How long is "as long as possible"? i.e. are you looking at an extended holiday or to settle here for life? How much are you willing/able to spend? etc.

Stv visa you have to apply from longstaythai you get 9 months
no I still can’t find it , I investigated online and it seems you have to use an agency based in Thailand called thailongstayvisa , have a look , I’ve started to use them and will see how it goes, let me know how you get on
yeah I tried phoning but they don’t answer so I emailed and you just get a standard reply but in one of the emails they mentioned the agency, I can’t understand it as some countries seem to be able to apply through the embassy direct.
