Hello, We have a special needs daughter who is 20yo but mentally 6months old. She ia blind and cannot speak. What Visa can she get. We 100% take care of her and she cannot get a education or DTV visa as she's mentally a baby. We were wanting to get either a DTV, or Education Visa for ourselves. She will be 21 this October (Not sure if the age effects our options)
Sorry if duplication crap online I'm an old veteran. I want to apply for DTV on medical grounds due to heart disease. Have been told I have to fly Bangkok for a doctor's appointment letter and fly back to apply for the visa? My plan is get the visa then visit hospitals for best cost and treatment. I have a family to stay with as I will come and go over a period of treatments. My second question is will a British home doctor letter outlining my condition be OK for the application. Thank you in advance, please no wise cracks as this is a genuine enquiry.
DTV in Phnom Penh. Some questions. Is processing affected by current border dispute? I plan to be in Cambodia from 28oct2025 for about 4 weeks, that should be enough time? Edit: same question here: [members only]/
Embassy website requires passport. Do I have to hand in my passport? Others here show pictures of their DTV as sticker in passport. I thought it's all digital?
My bank statements are in German and numbers are Euro. Is google translate okay? Do I have to send a conversion EUR to THB?
I'm going for medical treatment and have letters from two health centers, for acupuncture and testosterone injection. Any experience with this or other medical treatments?
Anything else that is not stated in their (thaievisa and Thai embassy Phnom Penh) website and not obvious?
Hey everyone, so need a bit of advice here, I'm about to apply for soft power medical, I went to Chiang Mai hospital and started a treatment with them for my skin condition, also did some blood tests , etc. I have so far from them receipts for payments made to consultations, tests and medication, statement document indicating my name and passport number along with condition , treatment to be taken , duration of treatment and required follow ups, and appointment slip paper indicating that I need check ups every month for 12 months. Do I need anything else from them, also the documents are signed but not stamped. What do you think ?
First off, I’d like to thank all the people who have posted or commented regarding their experiences applying for DTVs. It was really helpful for my partner and I in figuring out what we were going to do. Thank you!
We just got approved in Hanoi under Soft Power (Medical) in only 5 CALENDAR days (they sent it to us on Sunday night after having applied late on the Tuesday before).
While I think our situation is a little unique, there are some interesting points to share. The biggest one for me is: write cover letters! Explain what you are attaching and what it means. I can’t say for certain that they helped, but they sure seemed to. We didn’t get asked for any additional documentation and it seemed like everyone was getting asked for that.
Quick background: we have spent much of the last 20 months in Thailand, me entirely on entry stamps and two actual tourist visas, her on tourist entry stamps, then on a work visa, then a tourist visa. We had applied for the most recent tourist visa using the e-visa system, so we were already in there…not sure if that helped us or not.
In terms of medical documentation, we had one set of medical appointment confirmation letters. Mine was just for a health check-up, hers was for a health check-up and for a consultation for longer-term treatment. We had also made a second set of appointments, but had been unable to get a confirmation letter, so really it was one set of appointments and that was it. But, we explained that we had another appointment and were planning additional appointments (true) in the cover letters.
For financial, I had an issue getting my bank statement on time, so I sent in a print-out of my current account balance which didn’t look very official, but also included an account statement for my investments account which has substantial assets in it. She sent in a current account balance letter from her bank along with her most recent bank account statement, but had only transferred in the required amount a few weeks earlier which showed on the statement. I wrote a cover letter explaining the situation with my accounts, but didn’t bother with hers as those seemed pretty self-explanatory.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone. Happy to answer any questions anyone has.
