ORIGINAL POSTER
DTV in Phnom Penh. Some questions. Is processing affected by current border dispute? I plan to be in Cambodia from 28oct2025 for about 4 weeks, that should be enough time? Edit: same question here: [members only]/

Embassy website requires passport. Do I have to hand in my passport? Others here show pictures of their DTV as sticker in passport. I thought it's all digital?

My bank statements are in German and numbers are Euro. Is google translate okay? Do I have to send a conversion EUR to THB?

I'm going for medical treatment and have letters from two health centers, for acupuncture and testosterone injection. Any experience with this or other medical treatments?

Anything else that is not stated in their (thaievisa and Thai embassy Phnom Penh) website and not obvious?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around applying for a medical treatment visa (DTV) in Thailand while currently in Cambodia. Questions raised include concerns about processing times given a current border dispute, whether the passport must be submitted during the application, and requirements for translating financial documents. The conversation highlights the increasing strictness on medical treatment documentation, emphasizing the need for long-term treatment plans and proof from accredited healthcare facilities. Participants warn that applicants must provide comprehensive evidence of the medical necessity and related financial documents to improve the chances of visa approval.

Suggest you change the purpose of getting the DTV visa. Likely will be DENIED. Read other replies regarding Medical Treatment plans needed for documentation.

You Only need the 60 day Visa Exempt Entry Plus one 30 day extension { 90 days ...for what you say you need for medical care.

You have very low chances with two appointments from random clinics... You'll need a proper medical treatment plan on the long term from a reputable hospital/clinic. It may have worked before but it's not anymore.

They have got stricter on the medical treatment. Now you normally need a treatment plan of at least 6 months signed off by a recognised doctor on the official letterhead of the medical facility he works at.

Before you comment, go back to the post to make rational comment.

With all respect, my comment is rational. The DTV allows for medical treatment, but it needs to be much more prolonged and structured. This is a page regarding DTV. You brought up another visa, which for people who don’t understand the different visas, could be confused. If you goal was to highlight that what the OP supplied will only get him this other visa, you need to say a little

more in your message. Before you post, think out a full response. Congrats you have a friend or congrats he has teeth.

I don’t know if you will get over the line for your “medical “ treatment

1.Purpose: Applicants must seek medical treatment in Thailand, such as long-term care, rehabilitation, or specialized treatments offered by Thai healthcare providers.

2.Healthcare Facility: Proof of confirmation or letter of appointment from an accredited hospital or medical center in Thailand.

3.Financial evidence: You must provide proof of funds totaling at least 500,000 THB. Evidence which are accepted could be recent bank statements that reflect the financial requirement is met, or a sponsorship letter.

4.Medical Records: Applicants may need to provide medical records justifying their treatment in Thailand.

Agree. A bit of acupuncture and a testosterone injection seem a bit light for a 5 year visa. You can get the injection in 2 minutes in the pharmacy where you buy to meds. Might get lucky in PP as I do not think many applying there at the moment.

I seen someone else asking if they could get Botox or fillers 🤣.

They should be thinking more along the lines of , diabetes, dialysis, maybe Invisalign 🤷

Physiotherapy etc.

The other key thing I’ve seen with other medical DTVs is they generally have to visit Thailand first to get the full medical treatment plan, and any doctor who is in any sort of position to issue documentation for a DTV won’t do it off of a phone consultation or email.

Next people will be using(trying) to use broccoli 🥦 prescriptions for medical DTV 5555
