3 years ago I stayed 5 months and had a multi entry 6 months visa, is it still possible to apply for one of these? I am going for 3/4 months, but doing trips to Laos and Singapore

Dear group members,

According to your knowledge, would such a plan for a six-month stay on a multiple-entry tourist visa be acceptable to Thai Immigration? Here’s the idea: 60 days in Thailand + 30 day extension - 5 days in Singapore - another 60 days in Thailand + 30 day extension. Would love to hear if anyone has experience with this! Thank You 😀

We were thinking of dividing our time between Thailand and Vietnam. Rather than getting the 0 visa and having to tie up 800k thb, we were thinking of entering Thailand with a 60-day tourist visa, extending it once for 30 more days, then spending the next 3 months in Vietnam and returning to Thailand with another 60-day visa + 30 day extension.

I saw a post saying that you can't spend more than 3 months in the country on a tourist visa within any 6-month period, so this route may not be possible? If this is the case, is getting the multiple-entry 0 visa the best way to stay longer? We would prefer not to tie up 800k/pp in a bank if we can avoid it.

We're US citizens, age 50+.

TIA.

Hello all,

Starting to think about visas in Thailand, for my wife and I. We will take delivery of keys to our condo around December 2025. We will both be over 50. Ideally we would spend 4 months in the US, 4 in Thailand and 4 in the UK.

Worst case 6 months in the US and 6 in Thailand. My wife would like to work but it would just be online with her laptop.

What would you suggest for visas for 4 or 6 months?

Retirement visa for both, I think we could manage the 800k baht in bank and proof of x income a month (if that's correct? ).

Would there be any issues leaving for 6 months or possible 8 months in a year.

We would have ownership of condo.

Thanks in advance.

Tony
