Thank you in advance. I applied for a O/A visa here in the USA and was told to reapply with a FBI or STATE POLICE clearance letter ( I had given a local police clearance letter) to do this would have me cancel my flight and hotel reservations as that it would take another 3 weeks. Can I enter visa exempt and extend to get a O visa in Pattaya. Again thanks

I am in Chiang Mai ... I want to border bounce at Chiang Khong, entering Lao on my O/A Retirement extension with no re-entry permit .. returning to Thailand with a 30 or 45 day exemption or whatever is easiest ... are there any proofs of onward travel, proof of accomodation or proof of funds required returning to Thailand? ... I am planning on shared transportation or a VIP bus ... def. not a van ... any recommendations welcome ... thanks

I am wondering if anyone may know the answer to my question. I already live in Thailand and my Italian father is applying from Italy for the retirement O/A Visa. We are trying to find a local insurance company for him to get insurance from so he can properly fill out the visa application form (he already has global Cigna insurance but it doesn't seem like that is what the application form is for). The next hurdle is finding a local insurance company that covers people 83 years old and up, especially that accepts people that age in their first application (as opposed to a renewal). He is still very adventurous :) Has anyone found a solution to finding an insurance company to get coverage with from abroad for the application process that accepts people that age? Thank you.

Transferring O/A to O retirement visa:

My O/A retirement visa expired yesterday so I flew to Phnom Penn and returned today to DMK Airport armed with loads of back-up paperwork Flight booking out of Thailand Covid 19 VAX certificate and 20,000 baht in cash.

I was greeted by an extremely polite I.O. Officer who asked to see absolutely NOTHING.

She stamped my passport with a 45 day exempt and said welcome back Mr. Malcolm.

Thanks to the group for the help and advice on this subject especially Todd and James βœ”πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

I have an O/A visa and will be moving to Thailand next month. I will be shipping some household goods, I understand I can claim back or waiver the import duty. Does anybody know how?

Can anyone tell me if I can extend my O/a retirement visa , when I entered Thailand instead of getting a stamp for 12 months I only got 9 months due to my health insurance ending at that point , I know I can leave Thailand and get stamped in for another 12 months but it’s not going to be a easy and expensive with quarantine both there and back , if I renew my health insurance can I get a further 3 months till the end of my visa or is there anything else I can do as my 800,000 is tied up in Australia

Hi could somebody please confirm that the below list is full and correct for me to apply for my 1st extension of my O/A Visa,

I went to Chaeng Watthana complex yesterday to ask for a list of requirements and she handed 5 papers, I only see once home there is still no solid list of required documentation to bring along to apply for the extension just one paper given information, I was also surprised by the extra forms, simple to fill out though but could delay you if you have an appointment booked and then given extra forms at the last minute,

So I’m trying to put together my own list to save wasted journeys to immigration,

1. Completed TM7 form with photo attached, plus 1 x spare Photo

2. Completed and signed: The Acknowledgement of penalties form

3. Completed and signed STM.2

4. Health Insurance starting the day I applying for the extension

5. Bank statement to show last two months of mutual 800,000 banked funds, (Yearly statement next year)

6. Management signed bank letter to confirm it’s my bank

7. Passport

8. Passport photo copy of information and visa page, or should it be : (ever page in my passport ? )

Can the Bank litter and statements be done at any of the Kasikorn branches or does it need to be done at the bank I opened my account? Pattaya I’m now in Bangkok

I also had a form handed to me that is titled: Statement not sure what this is for and how to fill it out ?

Am I missing anything?

Also the day I will go to immigration is the day I should do my 90 day report I’m guessing if my visa is granted I will not need to do this until another 90 days has passed, sounds obvious but just checking,

Thank you for your help always,
