Will a proof of employment letter without remote work mention suffice for staying in Laos while working remotely?

My employer is a huge company, I am allowed to work remotely, but they can't provide paperwork other than proof of employment (with no mention of remote work). Will that pass in Laos?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is unsure whether the proof of employment from their large employer, which does not specifically mention remote work, will suffice for visa requirements in Laos. Comments from the community suggest obtaining a recommendation letter that confirms the ability to work remotely, and highlight the importance of having a contract that explicitly states the remote working conditions. There is also a mention of qualifying for the SMART Visa, depending on the company's size.

You might need to ask a recommendation letter from your employer that says you are allowed to work at any location including Thailand, and support that you have DTV. They asked me that and i provided it.

I’m having the same issue..

I just applied for DTV visa in the Netherlands. I need to send an additional letter from my employer that they allow me to work abroad. I got that letter now, but my employer won’t be reachable from now on for a few weeks. Does anyone know if they will actually contact my employer to check?

not really. If you can manage it yourself (like i did), it’s okay.

You just need a contract that states you work remotely for a foreign company.... You dont have an employment contract stating your working conditions?

If the company is that big you might even qualify for the SMART Visa.
