The discussion revolves around a user's concern regarding an entry stamp into Thailand that may have been incorrectly issued. Several commenters suggest checking the stamp details carefully as mistakes often occur during the stamping process. Recommendations include visiting a local immigration office to sort out any potential errors. Comments highlight the difference between various types of entry stamps, including Visa on Arrival and Visa Exempt Entry, indicating that understanding these distinctions is crucial to avoid overstays.
Yep but I am sure it will be fine there is no visa that allows you to stay for 19 days any way..And the 1 is there just over the other letters.. But thank you all for the info.
That’s definitely a one but go to Imagration they should sort you out. You can’t get 19 days visa exempt. 15 days or 30 and if I understand correctly you can only get 30 at Airport and not a 15 day.
OK great because this is visa exempt and it should be 30 days if it isn't then it can't be a 14 day entry stamp either because 6 Nov gives me 19 days, so it should be a mistake.
In Bangkok Immigration is a special desk just for mistakes. Like it or not Immigration Officers are normal people who do make mistakes. That is why the advice is to check the stamps directly on returning from your passport.
The "1" doesn't look like a 1 to me, rather, the edge of the rubber stamp. But...what you choose to do is up to you. If you are planning on getting a 30 day extension, go to Immigration on Monday, get the stamp sorted out and your 30 day extension at the same time. Then kick your feet up and have a beer.
, draw youself numbers on Immigration stamps in your passport, with a little luck you do not need your passport and Visa for some time soon and get free housing and food.
So the advice is go to Immigration and sort it out, or hope that if you leave on day 16 the IO can make a picture and blow it up to see the same 1 as Ron did. You can directly apply for the 30 day Extension of Stay.
I've just blown it more. If you look at the 'M' you can see the downward tick of what is the number 1 leading off of the top left hand edge of it. Yes though, I would of questioned it at the time.
Always check the stamps directly on returning passport, we keep on telling but we keep on getting questions like this. They always found out there is a mistake on the last day, I wonder how they do that. Just accidentally looked in the passport this morning?
Im pretty sure they have just not lined the stamp rollers up properly but it won't hurt to go to immigration. That's why I look everytime I get stamped these days. I have had 2 completely wrong stamps the last 2 entries.
, but than it seems that the 1 is far away from the 6, as you can see at the other numbers they are much more close. I would go asap to Immigration and get it checked to be sure.
Well at least we know it is not a Visa on Arrival. It's easy to call all the stamps the same name, but they have different rules and regulations. Same as the answers from a school test, if they all the same everybody pass every test with 100 % score.
As Mark said, either the "1" in "16" didn't stamp or the officer made an error. These things happen fairly often. I try to always check the stamp before I walk away from the counter. But a trip to the immigration office will get it fixed easily.
