TLDR : Answer Summary
The validity of your 6-month multiple entry tourist visa starts from the date it is issued, not from the date you enter Thailand. Each time you enter the country, you will receive a 60-day entry stamp. You can extend this 60-day stay by 30 days if needed, but you must leave the country after 90 days in total from your first entry. Thus, while you have a window of 6 months to enter Thailand, the actual days of stay will be governed by the 60-day stamps and possible extensions.
Yes so in theory you can come in on the last day of your visa and will receive a 60 day stamp, so in theory you can still be here in November

Will the 60 day stamp validity change to 30 days when the new rules kick in for tourist stay going to 30 days? Will you need to biurder run every 30?

6-months Tourist Visa multi entry how does it work
The ”multi-entry permit” means, you can do as many exits and re-entries as you wish, during the period of the visa validity, which is 6 months from the date of issue.
A multi entry tourist visa works like this:
On each entry into Thailand, you will get stamped in for a 60-days stay permit. You can extend these 60 days stay permit with another 30 days on Immigration for 1900.- THB. Before the accumulated 90 days stay permit expire, you need to exit Thailand.
That’s why you never need to do a 90-days report on Immigration inside Thailand.
Alternatively, you can leave Thailand before the first 60 days stay permit expires, do a “border run” and upon return to Thailand, you will get stamped in for 60 days, again
The METV is valid for use for 6 months, starting on the day of issue. The EXPIRY DATE of the visa can be seen on the pdf. E-Visa document which you received by Email and which you have to print out, to show it to the officials at the borders, under “visa must be used by” and the date
During the 6-month visa validity, EACH entry into Thailand will grant you a 60-days stay permit.
If you do a “border run” on the last day of the visa validity, you will be stamped in for 60 days for the last time. This will theoretically give you 8 months in Thailand
Now with a last 30 days extension, you theoretically can stay in Thailand for almost 9 months.
You can apply for a multi entry tourist visa only in your country of residence. You cannot apply it elsewhere, except if you are a permanent resident in a respective country.
Normally, the Thai embassy that processes your e-visa application will not issue the visa too early. They will wait until you are very close to your planned flight date, so you don’t lose too many days of the visa validity. So, after you have applied for this visa-category, don’t get much too impatient in the wait for the approval.

it means you have 6 months to reach the border . it doesn't mean you can stay 6 months in the country . you'll know how long you can stay once you enter the country

Hello, when you get a visa online, how do you update your passport?
If a French person living in Thailand applies for an O visa online in France and receives it in PDF by email, he leaves Thailand and goes to Laos. When he returns to Thailand, is that OK?
no. You cannot apply for a visa in Thailand. You must be physically in that country to apply for a visa through the embassy. If you're not in France then you cannot apply for the visa through the Thai embassy in Paris
If you make a final entry into Thailand very close to, or on the day the visa expires you'll be stamped in for another 60 days and with an extension in country you can get almost 9 months out of this visa.
it depends. Actually you become tax resident on any visa, if you stay inside Thailand for longer than 180 days per calendar year. At the moment, I doubt it will have any repercussions when you exit Thailand after an 8 months stay
You can apply for a multiple entries tourist visa online from any country you stay PERMANENTLY. A single entry tourist visa you can apply from any country you currently VISIT.

All visas start effectiveness the day they are issued. The expiration date of your visa is on the visa itself. You can only use the visa to enter Thailand until that date, and every time you enter you will get a 60 day entry stamp.
dont misinform. Visa starts on day of the issue. On day you enter you get permitted stay stamp, each stamp - 60 days on METV. So if you enter on first day of the visa you can get up to 270 days, if you enter on last day - only 90.
