TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can obtain a re-entry stamp while holding an ED visa. However, it's important to note that purchasing a re-entry permit will not extend your current stay; it merely maintains your existing 'admitted until' date upon your return.

, just so you know, IF you're on an ED visa and/or an extension of stay, when you buy a re-entry permit it doesn't add any time to your current "admitted until" or "extension of stay" stamp.

All it does is keep that current date alive so when you come back in your stamped in until that date.

, You can't get two at one time, you'd need to buy them separately. But you certainly can do that..

@Sa***
, IF you're only exiting twice it'd be cheaper to buy a single re-entry permit each time at 1000baht each rather than 3800baht for a multiple.

, Yep, not a problem at all, it's 3800baht at the immigration office, just mark multiple on the application form..

What you are confusing is a multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type ED visa (which are hard as nails to get) with a multiple re-entry permit while you're on an extension of stay based on studying.

No, it's not limited. You can either get a single re-entry permit for 1000 Baht or a multiple-re-entry-permit for 3800 Baht.

Just make sure that your come back before your visa/extension of stay expires.
