What should I do if I receive the wrong stamp on my Thai visa upon entry?

Re-entry on DTV.

Re-entered on DTV. Got stamped in with DTV but 60 days. Had to have it fixed to 180.

So, check your stamps! Wasn’t stamped in Visa Exempt - DTV was handwritten on the stamp on the passport page, but the length was stamped as 60.

Took about 5 minutes to get it fixed to 180.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When re-entering Thailand on a DTV visa, it's crucial to check your entry stamp promptly. Mistakes, such as being stamped for only 60 days instead of the full 180, are common. If such an error occurs, it can usually be corrected quickly, but it's best to address it immediately at the point of entry or at your local immigration office. Users shared experiences indicating that proof of funds is not typically required when entering with a DTV, reaffirming the importance of checking stamp accuracy upon arrival.

ALWAYS check the stamp immediately after having received it. Immigration Officers are only humans, and humans tend to make mistakes

Good feedback

Happens all the time. I've been stamped in as visa exempt on several occasions despite putting my visa number on the Tm6 form or in the case of airports they just stamp you in without looking for your visa or extension. It seems that these are not shown in the system (or at least visas aren't shown). Extensions obtained inside the country, maybe.

You have to show it to the officers. Every time I've gotten the wrong stamp I immediately get it corrected.

Same thing happened to me with the elite visa pre Covid. Got 30 day stamp instead of 1 year

Did you have to show any proof of anything like the 500k on re-entry? I presume the answer is "no" but there are people speculating about that, might be nice to put it to bed.

there isn’t any visa in Thailand where you need to show bank accounts at the port of entry.

Why would the DTV be different?
Ivan ************
@Jo**
absolutely no reason and the MFA has explicitly stated re-entries won't require anything but the visa but that doesn't stop people on Facebook saying they may require renewed proofs. Good to have confirmation that they don't.

they don't currently ask. But if they decide to change things they can at any time. New government, new rules.

I am especially curious in the case of the people that got the DTV by booking a few dentist appointments.

Anyway with this visa and the new and expanded 60 day visa exempt it seems like things are getting more lax. Let’s see how long it lasts.

we will see what happens when the first 180 day extensions at local immigration offices start

Passport, boarding pass, printout of DTV that I now carry in my passport.

No questions asked.

yep would appear this "bad stamping" is happening quite a bit, and people aren't checking their stamps before they walk away from passport control when they stamp in

Were you bad stamped at a land border or at an airport?

AND

Did you get it corrected back where you got the bad stamp or at your local immigration office ?

CW ΰΈ•.ΰΈ‘ has a section for "wrong stamp fixing".

@Sam ********
but the reason I asked is that no immigration office is obligated to correct a bad land entry stamp they can decide to send you back to the border where you got bad stamped to correct it πŸ™‚
