Hi, I’m submitting a DTV workation application from Hanoi very soon and would like to hear some opinions on how I should best present my proof of ending balances of over THB 500,000.

Here are my possibilities, if you were in my shoes which one of these 3 options would you select and why:

1. Wise account that shows over THB 500,000 saved up for 3 months or more.

2. New Zealand bank account that also shows over THB 500,000 saved up, but has only had that amount in there for 3 weeks. Before that it had almost nothing.

3. Submit statements for both accounts in application. I realize submitting 2 accounts can be confusing and count against you, but surely it's not an issue if both account have over 500,000?

It’s a bit of a headache because Wise isn’t a proper bank, but the statement from the actual bank is under 3 months. And yes, I’ve looked up old posts in this group beforehand and it has helped a lot. But I’m keen to hear fresh takes, especially from those who’ve successfully applied from Hanoi. Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience. After two rejections, the first one in The Netherlands, the second one in Vietnam, I've finally been approved for the DTV Workation Visa.

I went to Laos, and in comparison to the two previous applications, I would strongly recommend anyone being in doubt to do the same. In Laos is the 'in-person' interview, which gives you the opportunity to explain your situation and show your finances.

For me personally, I believe the reason my first two applications were rejected, is because of a more complex company owning structure, which they don't seem to understand in Thailand, but which is common in The Netherlands. The in-person interview gives you the possibility to explain everything properly in person, with showing additional proof of income through your bank app.

Laos/Vientiane is not the most entertaining city in the world, but the total process in Laos cost me 10 days.

VISA ADVICE

Hi everyone,

Knowing your expertise, I’d really appreciate your advice on my situation, best practices, and any feedback you can share.

I want to apply for a DTV Workation Visa.

I’m Spanish and I own a US LLC (Solo owner) where I build sales systems for coaching/courses businesses on social media , operrating only on the Spain market.

Here’s my financial setup:

* I don’t pay myself a salary. No payslips.

* I mainly use the LLC account for bigger expenses (rent, big bills, etc.) and only transfer small amounts occasionally to my personal account for daily expenses.

* Currently, the LLC account has around €4.5k liquid cash available And regular transfers and payments from clients.

* In my personal account, I just added THB 560,000 as proof of funds, i have regular daily expenses there that i can show in my statement for 6 months.

* The LLC receives €4–7k monthly, all of which I can prove with invoices issued to clients.

* At the end of each month, the LLC balance is usually around €1–2k because I reinvest most of the income.

* I am the sole owner of the US LLC, but I’m Spanish.

👉 Do you have any recommendations to increase the chances of approval? For the financial side i plan to show my personal account with the ending balance of 560k THB + My Biz account with regular transactions and income + Client bills proof.

👉 For those who submit client contracts, do you also translate them? If so, how?

👉 I won’t apply in Spain as have slow bureaucracy, but in Asia (Jakarta / Manila / …).

Thanks in advance for any input 🙏

# ✨ DTV Workation Visa *– Approved 12 days – No question asked!** *

Here’s how it went:

* Applied online (Jakarta, Indonesia): Sunday, May 4th

* Requested additional document (proof of stay in Indonesia): May 15th

* Approved: May 16th at 10:00 AM

As a self-directed portfolio manager with 80% of my assets in crypto, I wanted to be as transparent and detailed as possible. My application included:

* A 1-year transaction history from three traditional bank accounts supported by screenshots of those bank statements.

* A 3 months transaction history of my neobank account, also supported with a screenshot (used for daily expenses).

* A screenshot of one of my crypto portfolios

* A cover letter explaining my financial situation and lifestyle.

* A brief overview of my digital nomad journey through dozens of countries.

* A summary of my funds, how I manage them, and all values converted to THB.

The process was surprisingly smooth — just 12 days from start to finish, knowing that it includes one full weekend and 3 days holiday!

Got my DTV Workation Visa approved in Hanoi the other day (4 working days) flew back into Bangkok via Don Mueang Airport today and had no issues at immigration. Despite having an 11-year visa history with various types. Tourist visas, visa exemptions, education visas etc.

I was nearly refused entry 3 months ago via land border using a visa exemption and told to get a proper visa. Just wanted to share that applying for the DTV in Hanoi wasn’t a problem, even with a long visa history, and re-entering Thailand went smoothly with absolutely no questions asked.

Big thanks to everyone in the group for all the support and info—really appreciate it!

Hello, I'm sharing my experience after being approved for the DTV Workation visa. I’d like to thank this group again for all the valuable information. I am French.

Application Details :

- Type: DTV Workation

- Location: Hanoi, Vietnam

- Departure: Bangkok DMK → Hanoi

- Hotel booked for: 6 days

Timeline :

- Friday, February 14: Arrived in Hanoi in the evening

- Application submitted online at 10 PM – Status: "Pending document"

- Monday, February 17, 10 AM: Status changed to "Request document" (I had uploaded my company’s registration (KBIS) under section 4 Financial Evidence, but they likely requested the document to move it to section 5 Employment Contract)

- Monday, February 17, 10:30 AM: Reuploaded the company registration

- Wednesday, February 19, 1 PM: Approved

Documents submitted online (official website):

- Passport: Clear photo taken with a phone

- ID photo: 3.4 x 4.5 cm (taken at Kodak and sent to my email in JPEG format)

- Merged PDF containing a photo of visa stamp, boarding pass, flight invoice, and hotel reservation in Hanoi

- Thai phone number

- Permanent address: Address in France

- Current address: Hotel in Hanoi

- Intended date of arrival in Thailand: 7 days after arriving in Hanoi

- Intended length of stay: 170 days

- Flight details: A flight number found on Skyscanner for a return to Thailand (7 days after arriving in Hanoi)

- Accommodation type: Name and address of a hotel booked for 4 days in Bangkok (I think 2 days would be enough)

4. Financial evidence (submitted as a merged PDF with section titles for each category):

- 6 months of bank statements in French (original)

- 6 months of bank statements translated into English (converted PDF to Word with iLovePDF, then used ChatGPT for translation; highlighted salary in yellow for each month)

I HAD THE 500K THB ONLY 2 WEEKS BEFORE APPLYING. If your last bank statement doesn’t show the 500K THB (mine didn’t, since it updates on the 17th of each month), I requested a bank balance certificate from my bank showing I have at least 500k in my current account dated few days ago ONLY, before applying & translated into English from my bank.

- Screenshot of my banking app showing total balance (current + saving, in French)

- Latest savings account statement, not so much, the 500k was on the current account (original + English translation)

Optional – Sponsorship documents:

- Sponsorship letter (English), just say that the company support me financial if needed

- Company commercial register (KBIS – Original & English Translation) (Uploaded under section 5, which is why I received a “Request Document” notification)

- Company bank statement (original + translated)

5. Employment contract section:

- Employment contract (English) including job title and role

- Employment certificate (English, generated with ChatGPT) a simple letter stating that my employer authorizes me (name/passport number) to work remotely indefinitely, from abroad including Thailand, my start date and the amount of my salary, sign and stamp from the company

- 6 months of original payslips

- 6 months of translated payslips (English)

Returning to Bangkok (DMK) – No issues.

Before getting the DTV, my visa history was:

- 2024: 2-month visa exemption + 1-month extension (twice in the year)

- 2025: 2-month visa exemption + 1-month extension → Left Thailand for 1 week → Returned with the DTV

If all your document are already in English, less work for you haha.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

I applied for a DTV workation through my own company in Delhi, India, 3 weeks ago. Today, I received an email from the embassy saying that my visa has been approved. However, the details show a single-entry visa valid from February to May, without specifying the reason. Has anyone else faced this issue, and what did you do about it?

Hello everyone,

I am currently in Thailand and looking to apply for the DTV Workation visa. I am just starting my business as a self-employed entrepreneur, and although I have the required €15,000, I do not yet have incoming revenue in my account. I am wondering if this might be an issue for my application.

Here are the documents I plan to submit to the embassy:

📌 Basic Documents:

✔ Passport

✔ Copy of the main passport page

✔ 1 passport-size photo

✔ Visa application form

📌 Proof of Residence:

✔ Proof of residence in France (under my mother’s name)

✔ My mother’s ID

✔ My own ID

✔ Residence certificate

📌 Financial Documents:

✔ Bank statements from the last 6 months

✔ Bank statement showing possession of €15,000

📌 Business Proofs:

✔ A letter presenting my business, explaining how I generate income (bank transfers) and the platforms I use

✔ Screenshots and links to my website on Systeme.io, my Instagram account, and my online business

✔ Business registration with INSEE as a self-employed entrepreneur

✔ A recent invoice (less than 3 months old)

✔ Proof of a bank transfer related to my business activity

My questions:

1️⃣ Based on my situation and the documents provided, do you think I have a good chance of obtaining the DTV visa?

2️⃣ Could the lack of incoming revenue in my account be an issue?

3️⃣ Which embassy would you recommend for submitting my application while I am currently in Thailand? (I would prefer not to travel too far.)

Thank you in advance for your advice and insights.
