Will I need to show the 500,000 baht bank requirement when extending my DTV Workation visa in Thailand?

Hello, I am planning to apply for a DTV Workation visa from Belgium, and one of the requirements is to have 500,000 baht in a bank account for at least one month.

My question is: when I go to extend my visa for 180 days, will the immigration authorities require me to show that 500,000 baht in my bank account again? Or will the income from my freelance business count just as well?

If you are in Bangkok, you can go to Phu Quoc, spend 1 hour at the airport and come back on the same day. I did it last week. Cheap, fast and you don't need to hop on and off multiple vehicles to cross the border.

The DTV is a five year visa and only started less than two years ago. How is it expiring?

Sorry, the 180-day stamp is expiring😂

I live in Chiang Mai and do a same day border bounce to Laos at the end of my 180 day stay. Chiang Khong border is easier. Chiang Saen is good but more difficult to return same day. Either way, it’s safest to go with a border run company or agent.

DTV_Pag_Backer I live in Korat, so it’s too far 55 thanks a lot 😂

you'd go to the Laos border at Nong Khai from Korat, it's not that far. Can get bus or train, or use a visa run service.

1. Your stamp expires soon, not your visa.

2. Yes you can leave and come back the same day, if you fly. Some land borders don't allow same day returns, because this is Thailand and nothing is enforced consistently here.

3. I'd recommend taking a weekend trip somewhere nice around SE Asia instead of doing a border bounce. Luang Prabang is a nice and cheap option.

This is not first hand info but I’ve read that if you’re doing a same day run it’s best to use an agent. If you’re doing it solo, better to stay 1 night and come back first.

If you use an agent, you must keep using it so its not good

@JS ****
that relates to using an agent to get an retirement visa extension in a province other than your own. It has no relation to using an agent to do a border bounce, that is fine and the stamp you get back is no different than if you did it yourself. It doesn't mean you have to use an agent the next time.

best you use a travel agent if travelling by land to guarantee reentry.

Technically you should be able to, although I've read recently on this group that same day border runs are more scrutinized (not sure why, it's not a 30 day visa exempt).

I've done 2 border runs with my DTV. But I stayed over 1 night. Both times to Singapore. No questions asked when I returned.

Anonieme deelnemer 720 Border runs are always something to trick the system, no matter with what kind of visa or without visa, so will be more scrutinized.

Expire soon? The earliest a DTV can expire is in 3 years, and that's assuming that you were amongst the first to get the visa

Ah, sorry, it’s not the visa expiration, its the 180-day stamp expiration 😂

I believe he means his 180 days is expiring, not the visa itself.
