Hello, I am planning to apply for a DTV Workation visa from Belgium, and one of the requirements is to have 500,000 baht in a bank account for at least one month.

My question is: when I go to extend my visa for 180 days, will the immigration authorities require me to show that 500,000 baht in my bank account again? Or will the income from my freelance business count just as well?

Answer summary
When applying for the DTV Workation visa in Thailand, it is necessary to show that you have 500,000 baht in a bank account for at least one month. However, when extending this visa for an additional 180 days, immigration authorities will typically require proof of the 500,000 baht again. Many users confirm that when extending in-country, you must present this financial evidence once more, instead of being able to use income from your freelance business as an alternative.

You are required to have the 500k for at least 3 months in your bank account and yes, when you extend you will have to show the 500 k again.

When you extend in country you 100 percent sure have to proof you still have the 500k.

When you just borderbounce there only is a small chance you have to proof you still comply.

The financial amount should be no less than 3 months seasoned in your bank/savings account unless Belgium Embassy clearly states 1 month. I have never seen any Embassy allowing just 1 month evidence of finances. In addition, if you extend at Immigration you will need to provide all documents again as if applying for the first time. It is best to do a border run to any of the neighboring countries. I recommend just planning local mini vacation trips to places like Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, etc. Good luck.

I know, but the guy said he's never seen any embassy showing one month. Well, I'm showing one that only required 10 days.

SincereShark3757 You can only apply in your home country or in a country where you have permanent residence.

SincereShark3757 That is no longer correct. Immigration changed the law and you MUST now apply from your Home country or a country that you maintain Permanent Residence status. No other 3rd country will be allowed!

If you extend in-country, the requirement is to show the 500K again. This is one of the reasons why many people choose to do border runs.
