Hi everyone! 😊

Sharing our successful DTV workation case for me and my spouse.

We are currently based in Bulgaria, so our applications were processed by the embassy in Bucharest.

I applied late in the evening on March 7 and received approval on March 12.

My documents were quite standard - employment contract, proof of accommodation, and bank statements.

I have accounts in three different currencies within the same bank, with a total balance slightly above the equivalent of 500,000 THB. Part of the funds was deposited just a few days before applying - no questions were asked.

I provided bank statements for all accounts for the last 3 months. Additionally, I included a 6-month statement from my salary account to confirm a stable source of income.

My husband applied as a dependent spouse on March 16 and got approved today, March 27.

We submitted our marriage certificate along with an official English translation.

I also wrote a sponsor letter confirming that I will cover all his expenses.

My husband does have his own income - we mentioned his employer and income details, but did not attach his contract.

The bank statements were mine (the same ones I used for my application).

We didn’t receive any additional requests or questions from the embassy - everything went smoothly and quite fast.

Big thanks to everyone who shared their experiences here - it really helped a lot 🙏

DTV Workation (USA, Business Owner) approved in 1 business day in Manila, Philippines 😮 I have a branding and web design business with a US based LLC. I have tons of online presence and an online portfolio to showcase, so I'm sure this aided in the quickness.

Followed a lot of the posts in this group here to a T, alongside the help from ChatGPT to write contracts, letters, descriptions etc.. But wanted to share my own experience to aid anyone else in the process! I put together three different PDF's that I created in Google Docs.

1. PDF 1: Proof of Business

* Cover Letter explaining who I am, what my company does and why I'm seeking the DTV. Made sure to highlight that income is generated from non-Thai sources and that my work is fully remote in nature

* Company overview with a company intro, explanation of business services, explanation on where my clients are based on how I earn revenue, and description on my nature of work being remote and location-independent

* Employee Contract & Director Service Agreement (asked ChatGPT to write this between my LLC to me as the director)

* Employment Certificate Letter (written by ChatGPT stating that my company certifies me to work online and remotely)

* EIN Document from IRS

* Schedule C (Proof of Sole Proprietorship and Tax) for tax year 2024 and 2025 - I blacked out my social security number

* Tax Compliance Report downloaded from the IRS

* My website screenshot with a link alongside a short explanation on who I am, what I do and for whom

* Screenshot of Upwork Profile

* Resume & University Degree

* Screenshots of client branding & website projects with links to live websites. Each portfolio piece had a short description on project scope, a written client review and video testimonials

* More client reviews (included about 10)

* Client Invoices for the past 6 months

* Business Bank Statements for the past 6 months with client payments highlighted in red to match invoice names. Also highlighted owner draw/salary in blue

* Business Income Statement from Xero showing company Revenue & Expenses year to date.

* 2 Client Contracts

2. PDF 2: Proof of Financial Evidence

* Personal Savings Overview: A table outlining the amount held in USD on Jan 23, Feb 17, March 17 with the Thai baht equivalent next to it. Included a screenshot of my ending statement balance converted from USD to THB on Xe currency converter. My ending statement was approx ฿720K+

* 6 months of bank statements: ฿500K+ held for a little under 3 months, and it did drop under that amount by a little once or twice! I've heard from this group that you don't need 3 months of fund seasoning for Manilla, but had it prepared just to be safe.

* Proof of Long Term Investments held in a Brokerage account with Vanguard

* Business Bank Statements for the past 6 months with client payments highlighted in red and owner draw/salary highlighted in blue

3. PDF 3: Proof of Location

* *Note: *I'm dual American & Philippine citizen. I included a photo of my Phil passport to prove this. I am staying with family in Cebu at a condo I co-own, so didn’t have a formal booking

* Proof of accommodation letter (written by ChatGPT) stating that I am staying in the condo for a month. The letter included my full name, my passport number and address in Cebu. Also included a recent utility bill, the condo title, and the passport + license of the other owner

* Proof of Location including a photo of my entry stamp, a photo in front of the Cebu airport holding my passport and boarding pass, a screenshot of my etravel arrival card, and my airline eticket receipt.

My application was probably a bit overkill tbh, but no revisions or additional documents requested. I feel like the hardest part was compressing my PDFs to under 3MB each without losing the quality of images lol. I used a combo of Adobe Acrobat and iLovePDF to compress the files

I’ve been in Thailand for 7 years with all sorts of visas including education, volunteer and smart visas. Still amazed at how smooth this visa process was and still can’t believe it took one day to process 🤯

I applied around noon on Wednesday, e-visa letter available to download through the portal on Thursday around 4pm, and official approval email received at 7:30pm

My partner is British with an online e-commerce and Amazon FBA business, and he followed a similar format. They asked for some additional documents for his application after 1 business day, then was approved the following day around noon. He included screenshots of his Amazon product listings with links to his Amazon storefront, screenshots of product reviews, UK business incorporation, UK + US brand trademarks, Amazon FBA payout proof receipts, screenshot of seller central dashboard highlighting recent sales for the past 6 months, supplier invoices, product packaging, product inserts, link to his Shopify website, 6 months of company bank statements with amazon payouts and director salary highlighted and labeled, recent PAYE statements for the past 2 months, VAT registration certificate, and proof of his last VAT return for his UK Ltd company (screenshots from [[GOV.UK](GOV.UK)]([members only]) website).

*** The additional documents they requested from him was proof of corporation tax / tax payments. He uploaded PAYE statements, VAT registration certification, and proof of his last VAT return for his UK Ltd company*

Took two business days in total for him to receive his e-visa approval letter.

Hello everyone,

Quick question about the DTV Workation visa,

Is it faster to get it in Vientiane, Hanoi, or Ho Chi Minh City?

And in your experience, which location is less likely to require an interview?

Thanks in advance for your feedback! 🙏🏻

# My DTV Workation Visa Approval Experience (Hanoi)

Posting this because I couldn’t find much information about applying with a Thai bank account and already living long-term in Thailand.

## 👤 Background

* Living in Thailand for 9 years

* Previously on a BOI visa

* No overstay history

* Never had a tourist visa

Since I’m no longer working for my previous Thai company, I applied for the DTV Workation Visa. I’m employed by a German company and work fully remote.

## 📄 Documents Submitted

(All documents merged into one PDF per category)

1. Vietnam Proof:

* Hotel booking

* Hotel receipt

* Picture of me holding my passport in front of the hotel sign (address clearly visible)

* Entry stamp into Vietnam

* Boarding pass to Vietnam (placed next to my passport)

* Flight ticket back to Chiang Mai

* Rental contract for my house in Chiang Mai

(My wife owns the house, so she made a rental contract for me. We also added the Tabien Baan and a copy of her Thai ID card.

2. Employment Proof:

* Employment contract (English, stating remote work allowed)

* Additional signed letter confirming remote work from Thailand

* Company registration extract (German + English)

3. Financial Proof:

* Photos of Thai bank book (Krungsri, in my name)

* Official 3-month bank statements (downloaded in the Bank App)

* I had over 1 million THB in the account for 3 month

No foreign bank account used.

## 📅 Timeline (Hanoi)

02.02.2026 – 18:00 → Submitted

03.02.2026 → Pending Document Check

04.02.2026 – 15:00 → Pending Approval

09.02.2026 – 17:00 → Approved

No additional documents requested.

## ⚠️ Passport Place of Issue — Very Important

My German passport was issued at the German Embassy in Bangkok. In the passport it says: “Botschaft Bangkok”

That is exactly what I entered in the application - I wrote it in german "Botschaft Bangkok".

Enter exactly what is written in your passport.

## ✈️ Address Section

First address:

→ Your current address while applying (for me: Hotel in Hanoi).

“Is this also your permanent address?”

→ I selected NO.

Then I entered my address in Thailand - exactly as its written in my rental contract.

## 💡 Notes

* No agent used

* No cover letter

* No table of contents

* All PDFs clean and clearly structured

* Double-checked everything before submitting

Overall, the process in Hanoi was smooth and professional in my case.

Hope this helps 👍

Hello:)

The visa application for the DTV workation visa asks for the expected arrival and departure dates, the flight number, the address of the accommodation, and the length of stay. However, I don't yet know when I'll be leaving and only have a one-way ticket. I've only booked my accommodation for the first four weeks. Is that sufficient?

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well,

Had a tough time so far applying for a DTV workation. Been rejected twice now from Jakarta while staying in Bali.

1st application (sent 19th of Nov, rejected 1st of December) -

Self admittedly this was my fault, my documents sent were sloppy and probably hard to read through and lacked enough detail to show I was fully committed to the application. I rushed it and I can’t blame them for rejecting it.

I hold my hands up lesson learnt I moved on.

2nd application (sent 8th of January, rejected 28th of January) -

After consulting with a friend that was approved for a workation dtv by the embassy in Jakarta and research via this group, I tried to cover all bases:

Employment contracts, payslips, over 500,000 Baht in a Halifax account seasoned for 3 months, my separate bank account i use for day to day spending, cover letter showing my intent and reason for wanting to live and work in Thailand, a formal letter from my company ensuring I am not working for any Thai based customers/ business entities, all pages of my passport, a company letter confirming their agreement of my working location and it being a fully remote role.

I received a additional documents request ‘‘Please upload one bank statement showing an amount of no less that 500,000 THB’’, although I had already provided them 3 months worth of statements, I sent 3 statements again with the January statement now being updated to the current date, highlighted the end of month amount and the period dates, the next day it was sent for approval.

All of this was formatted and sent correctly from my knowledge (i scanned and read all the information over and over again), the cover letter explained the bank accounts (one bank account with the seasoned money never below their requirements and then a separate account with a smaller sum of money being used for day to day.).

It’s hard to look back now and find the mistake or reason for this second rejection as I simply don’t know what I’m missing or what they dislike about the application.

I could fly and try a different embassy but if my application is rejected here in theory it would be rejected everywhere. so many people have had a positive experience with Jakarta and I was so sure I’d get it this time.

Feeling rather stuck, don’t know where to go and I don’t know what to fix hahaha.

Hello, I applied for DTV workation visa yesterday at HCMC in Vietnam, I got an email today they requested more documents. Of course they say provide everything in english, but i sent my bankstatement in german language (my bank is in Austria) because there is almost no text on it and they can see the amount of money for the last 6 months and they requested english statement. The problem is I called my bank and they cant do it in english. Anybody had this problem before? They asked for all of my passport page and my CV and details about my current work, this is clear what they want. The other problem is this:

Other request documents: Please provide a business registration document showing the company name, the name of the legal representative, and a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, achievements, and a link to your company’s website.

I already linked my company website in the first documents and sent the business registration documents (hungarian and english). Im a sole proprietor in hungary and the company name is my name. I dont have any business name, its My Name egyéni vállalkozó (sole proprietor). And what they mean about company profile, what should i send for them?

Hi everyone

does anyone here have experience with the DTV workation visa application?

Specifically in a case where the main applicant applied for a DTV (Workation) and the DTV Spouse visa was submitted at the same time, but the main visa has not been approved yet. Immigration is now already asking for the approved main visa for the spouse application.

Do you know how long they usually wait in such cases, or do they simply cancel/delete the spouse application if the main visa is not approved yet?

Also, does anyone have experience applying for the DTV visa through the consulate in Frankfurt?

Thanks a lot in advance! 🙏

Quick question: I’m a UK citizen on a remote working contract, I have all of the required documents to apply for a DTV Workation visa, but I’ve only had the required money in my bank account for about 1 month. I’ve seen comments from people saying it should be three months, but I’ve not been able to locate any official information regarding this. I’m wondering if anyone from the UK has successfully obtained a DTV visa recently by showing less than 3 months bank statements?
