Has anyone left Thailand with an ED visa or another type, got approved for DTV and came back in right after? Was it an easy process? Did they give you a hard time at immigration?

Hi, I am aware the 90 days report on line is often down but if ever it gets easier one day what happens if I leave Thailand and go back again ? I know the first report must be done in person but is this obligation once and for all or does it mean it has to be done at immigration office every time I enter the country again ? Thanks for any info.

Technically not visa, delete or close if not appropriate. Here is an update of my return to Thailand yesterday.

I managed to get a test in USA which was negative.

I checked CAAT site [[members only]) and Chcago embassy [[members only]/) before leaving and also the 1178 number in Thailand.

I had insurance, ( this is not listed on the sites but is checked) negative test result ( site now says fit to travel document not lab test).

I confirmed with 1178 that the 72 hours is from when you leave on international flight and not 72 hours before arriving in Thailand as my travel was 36 hours and I only had result 6 hours before leaving.

I printed a copy of my work permit so everything ready.

In Chicago the airline agents had incorrect documentation required and they told me I had to fill in a return to thailand doc online embassy website. Their information was wrong all I needed was work permit, the form was for Thai Nationals so impossible to complete for me.

Contacted Chicago embassy, fair play, quick answer and helpful staff, they confirmed I had correct documents.

Airline manager came, she contacted embassy also, lucky same guy answered who spoke with me and he confirmed to them I had correct docs so could fly.

Many hours later, arrived in BKK.

Check 1 was to complete a T8 form which had to be done online took about 15 minutes. No issue.

Check 2, they print a copy of T8

Check 3, check of T8 and they check insurance, work permit and test result, TM6 and work permit.

Check 4 Just before immigration, on the ramp where you can get TM6 forms, 3 IO officers check all docs. Passed that easily in 5 minutes, then to main I/0.

Check 5 This was worst part as the I/O had issues with my WP and called 2 others over, who in turn called another 2.

I only hd a copy and they inquired why, my reply was that I left on 13th March and at that time it was not a requirement to re enter thailand so wife sent copy, that was ok.

Next, Why is my company name not on the WP, had to explain my WP was obtained by Distributor not my company.

They then got bit confused as my WP is on back of a Non O based on Marriage and not Non B.

By now was about 6 of them lol with two of them in line video call laughing filming this as I was only farrang out of 70 on plane, rest all Thai lol.

I was not overly worried as I had all required info, just a matter of explaining to them, they obviously very cautious at moment.

After 20 minutes explaining my WP and VISA was let in.

Apparently there was 5 international arrivals yesterday and 3 today so think the flight availability will be more of an issue than documentation.

Ok finally going to have to get a visa 12 years on 30 day entry stamps, but still going to be leaving the country 6-8 times a year, retirement vise is probably the easiest, what is the re-entry process, have a vise for states its just show at immigration no problem, but i remember people going on about re-entry stamps ect before you leave that seem a pain and them will i have to go to immigration every time i return for TM-30, its just easier on 30 day for me but know I'm flagged red now on entry, but never had a problem, just say i holiday a lot

Next question is ........................................................................

I need to renew my passport which I will do in UK when I arrive there. My old passport has my Visa, Extension and Multi Entry Permit details in it. Does this create a problem when trying to re enter Thailand?
