Just in case it’s useful I re entered BKK yesterday @DM Airport yesterday, very smooth entry. No questions and just a quick check of my DTV via my phone.

This was second time re entering and worth noting that others in the queue on visa exempt were all being asked how long in Thailand/when are you leaving etc?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their smooth experience re-entering Bangkok (BKK) via DM Airport with no inquiries beyond a quick digital visa check. They noted that while they had no issues, others faced questions regarding their length of stay, which aligns with typical immigration practices in various countries. Comments highlighted that asking about the duration of stay is standard and that showing a visa on a phone suffices, removing the need for printouts.

“How long will you stay in Thailand” is more or less a standard question, no matter which visa / visa exempt is used.

If you answer truthfully, then the officer know that you know how long time you are allowed to stay in Thailand on the visa option you use.

Nothing wrong with being asked how long you will be staying for, particularly for visa-exempt folk.

US immigration asks this question (or similar ones) of most arrivals and it's the same in the case of EU/Schengen, UK, Australian and New Zealand immigration.

and if your phone does not work, what do you show?

And with the airline staff, do you want your phone to be passed around between Staff trying to understand what new Thai Visa that you have ???

as I say it’s down to each individual, fwiw I’ve never been asked by airline staff and what if the paper gets lost damaged etc..

As ever it’s up to each individual to make their own choice and I am not giving advice just sharing my own experience

Either way it’s certainly not keeping me awake at night…

print it out as instructed when applying for the visa.

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

Yesterday, I came to Thailand for the first time on a DTV visa. They didn’t even look at my printout, he had all the details on their computer. What’s the point of printing it?

do whatever you want...but it is recommended to print it out.

Airlines will be asking to see the Thai Visa

Thai Immigration Officers will want to see it.
