(Edited w/additional clarification)

Earlier in the year when the proposed changes to VOA, Visa exempt, and DTV were announced, it was also mentioned that the Non-immigration visas were going to change by reducing the number of categories/types with possible changes in the requirements. The window mentioned was Sept/Oct.(Dec?) I've not heard anything since. I know there's a different Administration in place now, but has there been any talk of the changes?

I can't find the original article but this has the bulleted "mid-term measures" I read before.

Border bounce update

I managed to successfully do a solo border bounce at Chiang Khong today. Quick and easy, no questions asked.

A few days ago I had tried a border bounce at Huai Kon, but was told you need a Laos visa in advance to cross there as they don't have an office to issue the VOA.

Short Update about my Border Bounce @ Padang Besar today. I stay 2 Nights before i went back. My Passport has one VOA and 6 Covid Extensions. And yes it was not easy. I had to explain everything. A lot of discussions with the IM officer about what i do where i stay bla bla bla. After 30min got my 45 Day Stamp. She ask me if i extend this VOA i said yes but no problem. The IM Officer wasn‘t relaxed at all. its looks like a little game. But be prepared. Good Luck ☀️😁🙏

“Relax”

I see a lot of trouble here. Sure, i have a reason why i choosed this way. And yes i know i have to move to the correct Visa Type and i will do. I guess a lot of people need to go this way because somthing in your live forces you to aceppt a challenge.

Anyway, this way was the fundamental start to get to where i am now. 🙏

We want to travel to Thailand from India and get VOA. After few days we intend to travel to Cambodia and then head back to India. The problem is, there are no direct flights from Cambodia to India. There is a flight that goes to bangkok and after a layover of 7 hours there's another flight to Mumbai. Now, as our Thailand visa will be for single entry, would we require a transit visa to spend 7 hours at suvarnabhumi airport, bangkok? We will not be leaving the airport and both the flights will be under the same booking, by the same airline and with the same PNR.

Can someone please confirm where in Bangkok to apply for the Covid extension as I thought it was the Muong Thani immigration but I also saw that the IT Square mall location does the same. TIA

Hi!

I can't get extension visa as entered Thailand with VOA two years ago, and now all long-term visa service from agencies are stopped. So I must leave Thailand in a week.

I don't wanna go back to China currently as there's still 14 days quarantine with too many restrictions, and would be difficult to get out of China again.

So I thinking of moving to another country which allow VOA, any good suggestions please? Southeast Asia preferred, Vietnam? Cambodia? But the point is the country must allow

Visa On Arrival, because I don't have any visa on my Chinese passport.

Thank you everyone! 🙏

I did a land border bounce last week and got a 30 day VOA. Am I still able to extend this by a further 30 days at my immigration office? I’m reading a lot about extensions for Coronavirus and the need to get a letter from your Embasy. Does that apply you if you just want an additional 30 day extension?

Hi all, this year I have travelled Thailand on 3 x 30 day VOAs and 1 x SETV. When I entered the country for the final time this year on the SETV the IM officer (Non-english speaking) was extremely unhappy with me, I was very nearly turned away! After some discussion with a English speaking member of staff they allowed me in, however they told me that I would 'never be allowed to use VOA or tourism visas again' and there would be a 'mark on my file' to tell other IM officers around the country if I were to come back in on a tourism visa at a different airport. I know I've shot myself in the foot here by using the visas back to back as opposed to spreading them out, its my own fault, I got greedy, I could have done it differently and avoided all this drama. However, my question is, can they really do the above? Or were they just trying to scare me off? I would like to return to explore more of Thailand next year, ideally I'd like to got for a METV this time but I'm afraid I may get turned away on arrival if they above is true...? Any advice and/or previous experience would be grateful. Many thanks.

Hi there, visa on arrival question, bit complicated. Mexican passport. I currently have a METV, which Ive used to be in Thailand for the last 5 months or so (did 2 border bounces to Laos). Im currently stamped in until 22 Oct, although the visa itself finishes on 9 Oct. No previous visa history before this METV That's all fine.

However, i will travel overseas in the región for 10 days, as of 11 Oct, returning on 22 Oct. My flight home (to México) is on 28th Oct. As my METV will be void, i plan to use the free 15 day VOA option (which Mexicans are eligible for) for the 6 days until my flight home. Flying back into BKK Airport.

I realise no one can say for sure, but is anyone aware of any rules stating that someone is not eligible for the VOA after having had a tourist visa? I plan to show the 20k, flights and hotel bookings, obviously.
