I'm going to be relocating to Laos soon but I do plan on popping over several times a year via air and land crossing. With the government beginning to crack down on VOAs, is it worth it to invest in a multi entry visa?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether it's advisable to invest in a multi-entry visa for frequent trips from Thailand to Laos, particularly in light of the increasing scrutiny on Visas on Arrival (VOA). MotivatedRaspberry1214 he won't need an agent to extend 12 months. He already has bank account.
For 90 A days Non O application, the posted Requirements Document doesn't actually state that the 800K needs to be ALREADY in the account 60 days PRIOR.
So is it OK if it was deposited a day before the the non-O application?
FYI: I'm planning to use Krabi immigration office.
I will share my experience (without agent) went to the immigration office to apply for conversion from tourist visa to 90days nonO .....filled up TM87 bring along passport copies of front page and stamp in page (u need more than 15days on your current stamp to apply) lease agreement (6mths) bank letter, bank statements, bank book(updated to current date) do a TM30 at the immigration (diffeent counter) if u didn't have.... make a copy of Google map of your current address....done this at CW (bkk) pay 2000baht and they will issue u a receipt and a date to go back and stamp your passport
Do you have a current TM-30? That should be sufficient. I do not rent, I live with my girlfriend, when I do my extensions I just use a copy of my TM-30 and the housebook. Don't know for your situation but you might just ask the local immigration office.
Last year I came in on a 60-day tourist visa (not visa exempt), then had a 30-days extension, followed by a 90-days "o" retirement (with a re-entry permit), followed by my current 1-year "O" Retirement extension of stay with a multiple-re-entry permit.
