TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon returning to Thailand with your retirement visa and multi-entry re-entry permit, you simply need to present your passport at immigration. Make sure you show the re-entry stamp and verify that the correct visa stamp is applied. There's no additional paperwork required if you're staying at the same address. However, be aware that you should complete the TM30 registration online within 24 hours of your arrival.

I always hand over my passport open at the re-entry stamp so they can't miss it. Also check the stamp they put in your passport matches the date before moving away

Assuming you mean immigration at an airport then all you need is your passport and last boarding card.
Check they give you the correct stamp while you are at the desk. Much easier for the IO to fix a mistake then than trying to get it rectified afterwards.
If you're talking about the O-A Visa based on retirement, you can only apply for it back home. But,there's a mandatory quite expensive health insurance involved plus a medical check.
excellent . Am I correct in saying Graham, one approved you have 90 days in which to travel or it expires. And also once arrived you aren't allowed to leave the Country for a period of time?
Yes, valid for entry for 90 days from date of issue (Non-O) and to leave/re-enter you would require a re-entry permit to maintain your status during your first 90 days
sorry Graham I just need to ask one more. The way I was reading retirement Residency terms it seems to say (please correct me if wrong) that in essence if you apply for residency but say you wanted to spend 6 months here in the UK and 6 months over there, you lose residency status?
Yes, you only need to be back in the country when your extension is due to continue the process otherwise you have to start again with a new Non-O 90 day Visa
