Hey Community, I am on my initial business visa, so can I leave the country and come back without doing anything? Isn't there something I can do at immigration or the airport to make it easier to come back? I can't remember what it's called, but maybe it doesn't apply to this visa? ๐Ÿค” thank you for any advice ๐Ÿ™โค

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the need for a re-entry permit for those holding a business visa in Thailand. It's crucial to obtain this permit before leaving the country, either at the local immigration office or at the airport of departure. If a re-entry permit is not secured and the individual leaves the country, they may void their current stay unless they are using a Visa Exempt Entry or Visa Waiver to return.

Depends on what you want, if you entered using a Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa and got 90 days and leaving within these 90 days, you void your stay and can come back using another visa or depending on passport a Visa Exempt Entry or Visa Waiver.

But if you are working in Thailand you need to keep your stay alive as described by Ellie.

You have to get a re-entry permit BEFORE you leave Thailand at the local immigration office or at the airport where you leave internationally (means where you are stamped out on your passport). And you must return to Thailand on or before the date on your current admitted-to-stay stamp.

or, if you mean you leave that 'business' (or employment) by leaving Thailand, you don't have to do anything, just leave.

you don't need a work permit for this. You can do at BKK, it's open

. if a officer is not at the counter, ask another officer around or tell to the one at the passport control when you are stamped out.

wow, thank you for this! I have a couple questions. It's okay if I don't have my work permit yet, correct? I will have to do it at the Suvarnabhumi tomorrow morning because my immigration office is closed today for the holiday; should be okay? I will arrive back into Thailand with ~3+ weeks remaining on my initial 3 month stamp; should be okay? Thank you so much! Need/want to visit friends and family ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™ƒ
