Is this going to cause me problems when i go to the states and come back?? Or am i able to get multiple entry. Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarity on the implications of obtaining a single entry Non Immigrant B visa in Kuala Lumpur before traveling back to the US for a couple of weeks, and whether this will affect their return to Thailand. Comments clarify that the single entry visa allows for a 90-day stay, and to return after a trip to the US, the user will need to obtain a re-entry permit from the immigration office, which can be done at various locations including the airport.

You can stop by the immigration office at the airport (after check-in before passport control). Allow an extra 30 minutes (thats generous), bring a passport photo, and I think 1900 baht, always best to have photo copies of your passport with you - though you should be able to do it there.

You can get it at any time at Immigration Office or before departure at some International Airports.

I live in Chaing Mai... but is this something i need to do before i leave to the US or do i just do it when i come back to Thailand from my US trip?

You will get the Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa if all requirements are met. This will give you on return to Thailand 90 days of stay. If you want to go during this 90 days of stay to the US you need a re-entry permit.
