Hi guys. I am a Brit with a British passport. I successfully obtained the DTV via the London embassy last year, and then entered Thailand shortly after, getting the 180 day stamp at BKK, as expected. I stayed for 3 months then exited the country. All good.
I was issued the DTV as I was directly employed by a UK company that permitted me to work internationally remote. I provided a copy of my full employment contract and a brief cover letter from my boss.
But, I'm no longer employed by said company. I'm unemployed. But I am in sound financial standing and am considering returning to Thailand soon.
Obviously I still have the DTV as it's valid for 5 years.
Am I 'safe' to enter, even tho I'm no longer employed?
I know they ask for all the docs again when extending, but does anyone who's re-entered on the DTV lately know if they're asking for anything at immigration?
I am super conscious of not breaking any laws/rules. I always wondered how they would know someone reentering on the DTV is still eligible under the original conditions in which they applied. 5 years is a long time and inevitably circumstances change.
Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a British citizen with a DTV visa, is concerned about re-entering Thailand after becoming unemployed. Fellow users provided reassurance, suggesting that there are currently no extensive checks at immigration regarding employment status when re-entering with a DTV. They noted that while checks exist for visa extensions, re-entry has been broadly unaffected so far. Thus, the user is likely safe to re-enter Thailand without issues.
I got mine on workcation basis too and actually spend little time in Thailand as I have other stuff to take care of in other countries, so I'm always coming in and exiting. So far no checks are being done (at least not on me) even though I'm using a weak 3rd world passport. You being British should be fine.
Right now you are fine leaving and re-entering. Nothing published and no checks reported at borders. Do not worry right now. If anything changes, and it is an "IF" then deal with it then. Worry when and if the time comes. Good luck.
