I have my first 0 retirement visa and it comes up for renewal in April 2025. I left Thailand on June 2024 due to medical issues I wasn't sure if I would be returning so I withdraw most of my 800,00 B. I will be returning in late November and I will be re depositing 800,00 back into my bank account. When I go to renew my yearly visa in April 2025 will I be able to renew my retirement visa?

Theoretically, couldn’t a US citizen get the DTV while not being in the US? Sounds like the application process is done online. Couldn’t one apply from any country through their home consulate’s eVisa system?

Hi,

Is an immigration officer allowed to stamp you in for a lesser time than what your visa is for? For instance, if they ask you how long you're going to be in Thailand under your 60 day Tourist Visa and you say 45 days, can they stamp you in for only 45 days or will it still be the default 60 days allotted by the Tourist Visa?

Thank you

800k Baht question: I put 800k baht in a Thai bank, get a three months extension, and let it sit there for two months? Then I go back to the immigration office and get a 12 months visa stamp.

What happens if I spend 700k baht of it? What I've heard is that it shouldn't go below 400k baht in the bank account.

Anyone knows any details on how and more importantly where to apply for the new one year medical visa

The conditions etc are all clear, but I cannot find out where to actually apply. Send the thai embassy in Haag a main, but they were not very helpful. Just reffered me to a website that dosnt list the visa yet.

Do I need to apply directly with immigration?

I’m returning to Thailand on 30/01/2024.with my Thai wife.

My marriage visa runs out 5/01/2024

I’m planning on returning on a 30 day visa on arrival, then renew my marriage visa during the 30 days . I do not have a departing flight ticket.

What is the best way to avoid any problems with the airline ?

Question about the 6 month multiple entry tourist visa : can I extend it at immigration every two months until the visa expires or once I extend it it’s the end of the visa ? Do I still need to leave after the extension to renew it ?

Hello group! I have a question regarding the O-X visa. But first a big thank you to all the knowledgable people here - your advise in invaluable!

I am German , over 50 years old, and interested in the O-X retirement visa, either applying in Germany or with application in Thailand. I read the requirements on both the Frankfurt Consulate page (consulate for my region in Germany) and the Thai government page. They both don't differ much, in particular with the financial requirements. I am still not clear on monetary requirement in year 3 and after of this visa. The relevant information states (on both websites Germany and Thailand) clearly that one needs to have 3 Million THB in a Thai bank account at time of application. It also states on both pages that:

"- Stay permit of the Non-O-X visa holders may be revoked due to following conditions:

1) Foreigners do not have financial evidence as per stipulated by above qualifications such as:

- The sum of money in the bank account is less than 3 million Baht at the end of the first year of stay period in Thailand.

- the sum of money in the bank account is less than 1.5 million Baht at the end of the second year of stay period in Thailand, and/or the money in said account was spent outside Thailand."

My question is what happens after the end of the 2nd year? Do I need to maintain the 1.5 million throughout the validity of the visa?

In other words, what are the requirement for the annual check at immigration after year 3? I was not able to find anything on this, nor any report of someone with this visa. If anyone in this group can shed some light on this, I would be very grateful. Thanks much!
