Some advice please

I will be arriving on September 9th so I understand i will still get 60 days visa exempt.

I'll be leaving 35 days later.

However im also looking at getting my None O visa when I return in December, now this is my question

If I arrive in December I plan to use my none O visa to enter but in January I need to leave the country for a wedding for a week then I'll return.

Will my none O still be valid ????
Answer summary
The user inquires whether their Non-O visa will remain valid after leaving Thailand for a week due to a wedding. The comments clarify that a re-entry permit is required to keep the permission to stay valid while leaving. If the user obtains a single re-entry permit before departing, they can re-enter Thailand under the same visa, provided they return before their entry stamp expires. There is also advice on the costs of re-entry options and recommendations for managing banking and funds before their return.

You will need a Re-Entry permit (two options A Single Re-Entry permit or A Multiple Re-Entry permit.) I'd recommend you get it from your local immigration office, though you can get from immigration at the airport.

If you have multi entry (3,800 THB) no problems.

Jim Davis This is such a BAD advice! It is absolutely unnecessary to buy a multi re-entry permit for 3800 Baht, if you only plan to exit and re-enter once! You would be wasting throwing away 2800 Baht compared to the 1000 Baht for a single re-entry permit. And a Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa is only issued as a 90-days single entry visa. There are no more 1-year multi re-entry Non-Imm-O visas since October 2023

Greg Alexander What if I am coming in and out Thai? I do not plan, just turn up when convenient to me.

Jim Davis the OP only requires a re-entry permit for the initial 90-days stay permit. For only ONE exit and ONE re-entry. If you are on a 1-year extension of stay, and plan to travel out of Thailand and back in several times, that's when a multi re-entry permit makes sense

Jim Davis That's up to you but not what the OP requires

If you buy a single re entry and your back in time with 2 months of seasoned funds you’ll

be fine

Brandon has comprehensively answered this question. I would get your bank account opened and your 800,000 baht transferred in that first week, to avoid a big rush later, especially if there are any delays in returning.

When you enter Thailand and use your visa, it becomes invalid as of the date you enter, because you already used it.

That non-O visa will grant you a 90-day permission to stay in Thailand. You're actually asking "will my permission to stay still be valid?"

You must purchase a re-entry permit before you leave. This keeps your permission to stay stamp alive if you leave. Were you to leave without a re-entry permit, your permission to stay is also invalid as soon as you leave.

With the re-entry permit, as long as you're back in Thailand before your entry stamp expires, you'll be stamped back in on the same stamp with the same date, and you'll then be able to apply for the annual extension.

thank you for that information.

I plan to open a bank account within the first 2 weeks.

Just wasn't sure if i could actually have a re entry permit.

SpeedyAsparagus5533 You have to buy it, 3,800 THB.

True, while I was on 90 days Non O visa, I did not think of exiting/re entering Thai. With 1 year extension of stay I bought multi entry for 3,800 THB. Used it, 4th time since September 2025.

No reason for him to buy a multiple re-entry permit for a 90 day stamp. A single re-entry permit for 1000 baht is more appropriate.
