Why do so many people spout their know-it-all pseudoscience about visas when they’re just talking nonsense? If you don’t know what you’re talking about, keep your mouth shut.

I'm in Bangkok, where is the best place to apply for your Retirement Visa, if you're not comfortable doing it on line for yourself?
John **********
John **********
@Gay ***********
you can't apply for any Thai visa online while you are inside Thailand. To apply for a retirement visa yourself you would have to leave Thailand and apply for a 90 day Non-O visa based on being 50 or older in a nearby country, unless you already have a Thai bank account in which case you deposit the required funds and apply at your local immigration office.

The only other way to obtain the visa inside Thailand is by using a visa agent

My original DTV application was based on the soft power category, but the agent who handled it is no longer reachable.

Can I use my current remote work documents, salary records, company documents, and financial proof to apply for the 180-day DTV extension at Immigration?

I doubt that very much but it would be interesting to try. If you do try let us know how you get on.

I normally get my approval one or 2 days after I have submitted the application online. Probably individual depending on your country of residence and also the type of Visa you apply for.

Nobody can give you a meaningful answer because yoou omit your passport nationality and which country you are applying from. Both of these are factors which effect the approval process times.

Dang. 13 days later, they are still waiting to review documents. Which embassy or consulate you apply to there a lot to do with it. I applied to the one in Washington.

The good new is that I’m within the 15 days of my trip so doesn’t really matter if they turn me down or accept me.

Andrew Patron, The minimum is 4 weeks, or even 5; for an METV visa, it is actually recommended to apply 2 months before departure.
Andrew ********

Pascal Teerak I was going to apply a while back but I thought I read somewhere that they recommended not to do it to early. Well, it looks like I will be in thailand when they approve my METV.

Hi, when you submit your applicaiton for Tourist eVisa, were you asked to provide a bank statement/financial proof in the past 3 months or so? Is there any mandatory "travel insurance" proof you need to attach?
Pascal ********
Pascal ********
Johan_Budiotso, No, insurance is not required for a single-entry TR visa or an METV, but it is always preferable and recommended to get insurance.

Depends on where you’re from. If you’re from American, you don’t need a visa just a TDAC

THAILAND DIGITAL ARRIVAL CARD

which will be done upon arrival.

John Feldman Do you mean the TDAC arrival card which is not a visa?
John *********
John *********
Graham Seal You may be referring to the non-O visa which takes a week. I got a tourist visa for a 60 day visa extended by 30 days if needed. Instantly. They immediately sent me an email. I went to the Thai Embassy asking if I needed anything more and I was told to show immigration the email. There were no documents to review. Just enter your passport number and your 3 month bank statement. I think everyone is referring to something else.
John *********
John *********
Graham Seal No. The actual tourist visa on the Thai evisa website.

If you don’t get the E Visa before you leave, just go ahead and leave and when you get to Thailand stamp in on Visa exempt obviously providing you from a visa exempt country then when you get your E Visa in the email take it to Immigration’s and explain to them that you didn’t get it in time for your departure date

some nationalities need a tourist visa to enter and the OP has not disclosed his passport nationality
Johan_B*******

@Wayne *******
you can do that? I mean, enter the country as visa exempted visitor, then later receive your proper Tourist eVisa and re-stamp (change the leave date) through local immigration? Do you need to pay the fee for re-stamp?
