My Filipina fiancée is preparing to apply for ED Visa while in Thailand and plans to go to either Manila or Cebu to acquire the ED Visa. We are following the steps on the Gvt Website and will submit an application Online in the next few days, then ounce all the required paperwork are received, plan to travel to either Cebu or Manila to acquire the ED Visa on the 1st of February.

Although we both searched extensively, we could Not find any reviews that would help us get a feel on the level of service that can be expected from either of the Embassies and definite timelines on how many days it takes to get the ED Visa once we are in the Philippines. Any insight from those in the know would be greatly appreciated and if there is a spot to check on processing timelines for ED Visa in Manila and Cebu would be great also.

Cheers!

I applied for my DTV for April 2026. Will it automatically be rejected just because of the three months? I'm surprised they would allow you to enter a later date, but then cancel and charge you the 350€ just because it was >3 months from the application date...

I recently applied and haven't heard back. Do you think I have any chances of asking to push the date forward (change of plans) if I call the consulate?

I applied through Spain

Realistically, given that I submitted my application last Friday (the 4th of April) before the HCMC consulate opened in the morning.

That the first day doesn't count towards the business days for processing. Plus, that there's a bank holiday today and there's two more a minimum based on the HCMC's consulate holiday schedule for Songkran for the 14th and 15th.

I'm not likely to have my DTV processed until the latter half of the week of the 14th-18th?

😂 I feel like in hindsight, I should had done everything I could to try to get my application in sooner.

🤞 I don't want to sound like a downer, but I want to be realistic with the timing of things.

— vietnam / Thai soft power DTV? —

Has anyone done this in Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh and was successful in the application?

Accommodation:

Did you put where you stayed in Vietnam for the first address and your home country address after? (Was told you can’t use a Thai address?)

- can you stay in a HOSTEL? Or does it need to be an air b&b or hotel room via booking or Agoda?

- for Vietnam address: - what info do you need to provide besides:

- the booking confirmation for the 2 weeks you stay in Vietnam, receipt of payment (can that be what you paid online shown on your confirmation page?), pic of entry stamp, pic of you in front of your accommodation?

Employment details:

- everyone seems to say issues if you don’t say unemployed.

- if some money has come into your bank statement only for one month (Nov-Dec statement) via PayPal; can I still say unemployed /no salary since the rest of the 6m including the most recent statement shows basically nothing?

(And yes, I have enough in my account for the 500,000 and ok on that front.)

Thanks for all your help!

DTV approved.

Danish citizen so applied through the E visa system Copenhagen.

Pretty simple and just submitted what was in the form:

Remote work.

Applied and paid the fee last Monday.

Work contract (Taiwan employment).

For the 500,000 i just took a screenshot of my account with current status.

As expected they asked for further documentation as my contract does not mention remote work, so a follow up document from my line manager sorted it out apparently.

Good luck out there
