What are the requirements for applying for a Thai visa while staying in Vietnam, and how should I handle accommodation and employment details?

— vietnam / Thai soft power DTV? —

Has anyone done this in Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh and was successful in the application?

Accommodation:

Did you put where you stayed in Vietnam for the first address and your home country address after? (Was told you can’t use a Thai address?)

- can you stay in a HOSTEL? Or does it need to be an air b&b or hotel room via booking or Agoda?

- for Vietnam address: - what info do you need to provide besides:

- the booking confirmation for the 2 weeks you stay in Vietnam, receipt of payment (can that be what you paid online shown on your confirmation page?), pic of entry stamp, pic of you in front of your accommodation?

Employment details:

- everyone seems to say issues if you don’t say unemployed.

- if some money has come into your bank statement only for one month (Nov-Dec statement) via PayPal; can I still say unemployed /no salary since the rest of the 6m including the most recent statement shows basically nothing?

(And yes, I have enough in my account for the 500,000 and ok on that front.)

Thanks for all your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The query focuses on applying for a Thai visa while in Vietnam, specifically regarding the accommodation details (where to indicate your stay), employment status during the application process, and the necessary documentation required for the visa application. Community comments provide insights into application experiences, particularly regarding successfully navigating the process while being unemployed and using different types of accommodation.

- first address is your current vn address (hotel)

- 2nd address is where your bills go. If you live in Thailand, put Thailand address. It's fine.

You can stay anywhere, including hostel.

- accomodation proof sounds good

- as long as your bank statement has at least 500k thb in it, I don't think the transactions matter. I had no issues applying for soft power in hcmc as unemployed

You have 3 weeks to go before entering Vietnam; that's not tight at all. The visa is the only thing you need to secure at least 3 business days before entering the country, unless you get an emergency 24 hour processing visa-on-arrival.

Just use the search tool in the group and search for Vietnam and there's plenty of testimonials.
