What is the realistic processing time for a Thai DTV application during the Songkran holiday?

ORIGINAL POSTERRealistically, given that I submitted my application last Friday (the 4th of April) before the HCMC consulate opened in the morning.
That the first day doesn't count towards the business days for processing. Plus, that there's a bank holiday today and there's two more a minimum based on the HCMC's consulate holiday schedule for Songkran for the 14th and 15th.
I'm not likely to have my DTV processed until the latter half of the week of the 14th-18th?
😂 I feel like in hindsight, I should had done everything I could to try to get my application in sooner.

I feel like it's actually fairly educational for others to see. I would never had thought prior to this to factor in the public holidays of both the nation I'm applying a visa for and of which the consulate/embassy resides in.
Vietnam had a bank holiday yesterday as well, which if there was not a Thai holiday the office also would had been closed.
Call me Western-centric, but it something that didn't occur to me. I hope with others seeing this, they'll think twice about the timing of their submission and whether or not this can have an impact on their planning.

A long message to justify your position. It's not with any malice it's just common sense to check where you apply what the turn around time is. I did the same l had 5 days with weekend and a holiday l was happy to submit my application and travel around laos for a few days. Like l said it's something you have to factor when applying at any government office even in your own country.Reply to

Yes, you will probably be there until after Songkran. It isn’t just about the holidays, but about staff to process. Many staff will take extended leave, before/after Songkran, which could easily slow the review process down.

- Most Thai do that. My partner’s siblings and spouses take leave before and after the long holiday, so they can all go back to their parents’ home in the countyside. I am sure if you are Thai living in Vietnam, and you want to travel home for the holiday, you will take more time off.Brandon ********

5,6,7.4 is weekend and also public holiday.
