Hey ya'll, planning on moving to Thailand later this year once I have more funds saved up, and trying to figure out which visa is right for me.
I'm a chef and plan on going the soft-power DTV route, through my friend's cooking school in Chiang Mai. However, knowing that I cannot work for a Thai company with a DTV I'm wondering if the Non-imm B visa is a better choice for me if I end up working at a restaurant/bar or elsewhere after being there awhile.
Has anyone switched from a DTV to a non-B before? Is there a better way I should go about my plan?
Thanks group for all the insight! Been learning so much from everyone here.
Has anyone recently been on a TR visa with multiple entries and then applied for a DTV and got approved?
My concern is that I have been approved for a TR visa and have had two to three re-entries within the past six months. I'm unsure whether I should email the embassy to cancel already approved TR visa before applying for the DTV.
I'm here on a DTV visa and work remote contracts in data science.
I have an interview with a local company that - if I get a job offer - will qualify me and my spouse for the LTR visa instead. The company specifically wants experts in my field with ,10+ years of experience and fluency in English, which they're having difficulty finding locally, so they specifically want someone from overseas at this point.
Do we know what happens if a second visa type is approved when you have a DTV visa?
I’m planning to go to Thailand in March with a tourist visa. If I really like it there, I might want to apply for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV).
My question is: Can I apply for the DTV visa from a nearby country and return to Thailand to activate it? Or do I have to go back to my home country (France), which would be quite expensive for a round trip?
Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for your help. I’m currently on a student visa and planning to apply for a DTV visa in July. I understand that I’m not allowed to work on a student visa, but I’ve recently been offered a remote job from abroad. I would like to switch to a DTV visa to ensure that I’m fully compliant with the laws in Thailand.
My questions are:
1. How can I show proof of my salary (which will be paid through SWIFT to my Thai bank account) given that I’m not currently allowed to work on a student visa?
2. Over the past three years, I haven’t paid any taxes because I was on a student visa. I’ve been living off savings from my previous job. If they ask for proof of tax payments, how should I handle this situation?
I’d greatly appreciate any advice, suggestions, or alternative approaches. Thanks!
I am just about to start my Muay Thai Visa on an education visa and I was wondering if later on down thr track I wanted to apply for thr DTV soft power using a Muay Thai course would that be possible? Has anyone done this? Thanks!
