What should I consider when applying for a Non-B visa in Thailand after an education visa?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for advice or firsthand experiences with applying for a Non-B visa (I know I am putting this into a DTV group but I hoped someone would know what to do in my situation) after an extended stay in Thailand.

I’ve been in Thailand for around two and a half years and am currently on an education visa, with about three months remaining. There’s a potential job opportunity with a Thai company that may be willing to sponsor a Non-B visa and work permit.

My main concern is whether my previous visas and the number of stamps in my passport could affect the application, even with the employer providing the required paperwork.

Has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully moved from an ED visa to a Non-B? Did you arrange it within Thailand or have to apply from your home country?

You should be fine getting the Non-B. I had been in and out for 18 months on a mix of Visa Exempt and SETV. Then I was about 15 months into O. I was offered a position and needed a B. The hardest part was cancelling the O but that is a different story. Once that was cancelled went to Singapore for the B and issued no problem. Back to Thailand and WP issued for 2 years and the 90 Day B extended in alignment with the WP. Good luck but I do not think you will need it. Once Labouri Dept issue the WP3 and you have other documentation it is straight forward.
