How do you pay bills in Thailand without Thai bank account with an Spanish bank account?
Answer summary
In Thailand, you can pay bills without a Thai bank account using various methods. Most Thai bills accept payments via Visa/MasterCard. You can open a TrueMoney account, which doesn't require a visa, or use services like Wise to transfer money directly to Thai accounts. Cash payments at convenience stores like 7-Eleven or Lotus are also possible, where you can pay utility bills using a barcode. Additionally, some apps accept foreign cards for bill payments, and international transfers are an option.

You can pay most bills with cash at 7 Eleven, Lotus and other shops, bring barcode or account number. Electric, water, internet and phone all accept cash at counter. No Thai bank needed, just small fee.

For transfer from Spanish bank, use Wise to pay Thai bill or send to landlord PromptPay. Wise rate is good and you can pay direct to Thai account using account number. Some apps like TrueMoney wallet also let you top up with foreign card then pay bills.

You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion 👌.

I use Lazada. Costs 5฿ per bill and very simple to do. Can scan the barcode on your bill and it brings up all the info.

Wise

Pay with google pay or Apple Pay where you can

Send money with bank transfer to a Thai trusted person and you spent only 61,44 baht to have cash

Pay bill from landlord with bank transfer with wise

(I buy moto too)

Open account with True Money, get autentication with passport or drive licenses and then charge 3000 baht on
****
and use QR code everywhere

Easy…not so much but you can do it 😅

I forget..don’t do tax id, is it impossible to somebody check you with wise, you are invisible 😎

PolishedPeacock6002 that’s definitely not true. Wise report and check quite aggressively.

I’ve been in Thailand less than a month and they’re already asking me where I am a tax resident.

Why does this require a misuse of an anonymous post?

I disagree.

People who use anon and nicknames to harass should absolutely be dealt with. But that is on admins. They know their real identities.

No one should feel pressured into posting publically. People have their reasons. And it's none of our business.

Personally I think
@Derek **********
has a point when telling a lot of people misuse the possibility to post anonymous.

There are some good reasons here to post anonymous, but a lot of them are just here to harrass other people and just childish put smileys on every post you do here, and unfortunately there is no way to block those users.

Just not being anonymous is more polite to others.

lol. No.

No one needs to know who you are on the internet.

When I was growing up we were all encouraged to NOT share anything about ourselves on the internet.

The same generation who told us that is now offended when people in fact prefer to be anonymous...
