Joint bank account, looking to move to Thailand this summer with my partner, can't we get a joint account and move the 1.6m thb in or is it better to have 2 separate accounts?

I'm aware that I must have 800,000 thb in a SINGLE name Thai account to qualify for a retirement visa, funds transferred from overseas. I've heard its also acceptable to have 1.6m thb in a JOINT name Thai account, funds transferred from overseas. Has anyone actually done this? Thanks

Back to the affidavit issue.. i’m US passport holder and I’ve been doing the 65k plus baht method for the last 4 years. It’s been going into mine and my wife’s “joint account”. Does that joint account count when I produce a statement and give to immigration.

My husband and I are about to renew our retirement visa.

I am going to request a consular letter from the British Embassy confirming our income. My question is, we have a joint account in the UK so proof of funds for us both will come from the same account. Last year we paid for 2 letters and the embassy questioned why we wanted two. I've just rang the consular dept of the embassy and this year they won't give me an answer whether i need to pay for 2 letters. Anyone know?
