Hi Guys

I am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me and could provide some information.

I have my DTV and we are now trying to apply for my wife’s DTV. I noticed that my DTV is issued to my new passport number as I had just renewed my passport because my old one was full, however my marriage documents are all on my old passport number so the passport number on my DTV and the passport number on my marriage documents do not match. Should this be a problem when applying for my wife’s DTV or could I just supply copies of both my passports and explain the situation? Has anyone else had a similar situation to mine? I know it probably depends on the embassy as well. We are planning to apply either in Vientiane or HCMC.

Question: My husband just had his DTV approved. He did the process in China. Can I apply for the DTV as a spouse in Vietnam or does it need to be in the same country where his was issued, in this case China.🧐

These are a couple of updates on the marriage based extension here in Phuket, done myself yesterday, April 2024.

1. The updated Koror 2 marriage doc is now 60 days old max. It used to be 180 days.

2. The GPS coordinates are now required on the hand drawn map (that shows how to get from the IO to your residence).

3. In addition to the spouse, the rest of the dependents (if any) now need to be in all the photos.

4. The IO objected to printed passport pages from a scanned file. Wanted actual sharp photocopies, even if B/W. Portrait orientation, not landscape.

Arrived at 8:30 AM, left at 3:00 PM with the under 30 consideration stamp. Seemed to be a tad easier than the previous extensions. No questions as to how the 400k arrived at the bank, a little over 2 months ago. No dreaded income questions, tax questions, or other scary stuff. Check with your local IO office, as the above was for Phuket. Good luck!

Second question:

I am from states, want to retire to Thailand next year, or year after, to live there full time.

My wife and baby would be traveling with me, as dependents. What visa would I apply for, for a 1 year renewable retirement visa with dependents, and what kind of visa does my wife need?

How much would I have to show proof of having in a US bank account, and how long would I have to move that money to a Thai bank?

I have tried to study this, I realize I need a retirement visa (O?) and my wife would need a OA? (She has US perm residence, may or may not be US citizen by time I want a retirement visa.)

Any idea how her passport nationality plays into her getting a dependent visa to accompany me to Thailand, and do I have to arrange it before getting to Thailand?

thanks for any clues, I know I can talk to Thai consulate, and want to prep.

I assume we/she would need:

* 2 different Visa applications: which ones?

* PP with 6 months or more on it.

* Health insurance proof

* Perm resident card

* proof of assets in US bank or investment broker <- how much?

Anything else?

Then what, this visa is renewable every year?

And if we leave Thailand we need to renew it before leaving?

thx, J-

Hi - from New Zealand, here on a Non Imm O (Thai Spouse) Visa granted 90 days on arrival expiring 3 December. I intend to extend this by the 60 days allowable and just wanted to ensure I have my documentation in order. I will visit Immigration in Chiang Rai on 16 November (is this too late?) and as far as I can ascertain need my passport, copy of bio page, current visa, and entry stamp, 1 x photo, completed TM7 form in blue pen, copy of TM30 notification made online, and 1900 Baht. Anything I might be missing? Cheers.

So, based on my research it appears regardless if I get married in Thailand or my home country I have to go to my embassy and get a certified marriage/divorce affidavit and possibly have my passport certified to register our marriage? Is this correct?

I really need help. I have submitted all the right papers to the town hall in Phitsanulok to be able to get married. It has been nearly a month and they have told us to wait an indefinite time.

I have only got one more month left and I am looking for somewhere else to try to get a marriage certificate.

Phuket seems to be quick but they ask for original devolve papers translated to Thai. I have them in English where they were checked for the affidavit.

Has anyone else married in Phuket and can give me advice.

Would like some clarification please. Got here on Visa Exempt and will apply for O 90 day Spouse visa in Bangkok . I have 400k in my Thai bank already.

Is it the same requirements as the extension or less for the 90 day? I’m wondering if I need everything including the Kor Ror 22 (still married), bank statement, photos at house etc etc ???

I know I need everything for the extension, it’s the Initial O visa 90 day I’m asking about.

Applying for 1 year marriage extension this week... question.

1- Do I need to make copies of the KR.2 form or can I just give them the two originals I get from the amphur office?

2- two months 400k seasoning is date to date, yea? Meaning my money has been seasoned since July 16, so anytime starting tomorrow, September 16 I can go apply, correct?

Thanks.
